Ok everyone, lets put down our pitchforks and torches.

If we want to find the egg, we must think like the Egg.

I don't know if I can force myself to be attracted to other men.

Anyway - on the older ladies; we don't want to piss anyone around us off, maybe we need to try and get them on board? Obviously they wouldn't go as mental as we're trying to, but if they could at worst tolerate us, and at best support us, it'd be a good thing.

I completely agree. The idea is for us to get others to join in and make the entire crowd louder - not piss people off and make them not want to go to the footy anymore. Hell if we can make the grannies laugh and join in with our antics maybe they'll bring milk and cookies for us :D

Id rather not piss them off, next time i might get a set of knitting needles to the spine. They get rather narky when you mess around with thier football game.

Why don't you try a get a bit of banter going before the game.

Tell them what you are about and you have club sanctioned tickets to create a bit of noise going during the game. You're not there to upset anyone.

Her highness NN might be a good ambassadoress :) for you.

we didnt get a chance to, the red coats/security and even the police were in our ear before the game had even started.

It is part of the members reserve. Very pricy tickets. Send over one of the female members to make some convo with the older guys then whent he older guys start the grannies will as well.

I actually know one of them, so I might be of use to you guys at the next game. :p

I can head over a bit earlier so we can have a bit of a chat with them prior to the next game if you like.

Yeah, that would be good Nikki.

We're inbetween a rock and a hard place here. On one level, the last thing we want to do us alienate and upset the other people, or ruin their football experience. Unfortunately, if they believe that making noise is going to ruin their football experience, we have differences that cant be reconcilled. We're there to make noise, and wont be bullied out of it by a bunch of old people.

True - but you know what a lot of older people are like, they think anyone in their teens/twenties is just there to get drunk and start fights.

If we could have a chat with them and let them know what we're about, and show them that we're a pretty decent bunch of people, then maybe they could grow to support us.

I think having NNoo go over and have a chat to them would be a great idea - maybe even with one of the boys from the actual Club itself?

I'm glad we're all on the same page though - we don't want it to end because the Club is forced to choose sides between us and long term Members. And I sincerely don't want us to be annoying other supporters - I know some will dislike what we're doing purely because they want to sit their quietly, but if other supporters can at least tolerate us, we should be alright.

Well done peoples, great noise (from watching TV).

With the oldies, it is hard as they are probably stuck in their ways.

For a 114 rep to go up alone and talk may not help as only a minority will listen or agree. However if accompanied by say an injured player or AFC rep then this should get their attention.

All they need to know is that this is an attempt by the club to generate more noise/atmosphere and it is NOT supposed to be hostile/threatening to patrons.

I think the extra presence of red-coats will help as will sitting down during normal play. Changing attitudes takes time and a bit of give and take.

Maybe it could also change to different bays after a period of say 3 matches.

At the end of the day, It doesnt really matter if people are standing or sitting for most of the game, the chants can still continue and worked really well. sitting down doesn't stop people from supporting and make a huge amount of noise Its probably better to keep people on side as has already been said.

I cant see that the grannies would have an excuse to get upset if we all jump up when a goal is scored or when something major happens, the best supporters in the crowd do it anyway.

The worst thing that could happen if enough people complain is that the club would withdraw its support, and thats the last thing we want to happen.
having joined the group for the first time on the weekend, I would say that that would be an absolute disaster. I enjoyed myself more at that game than I have in a long time. it was just superb to be in a group of people that want to make some noise and support the club as oposed to most of the so called supporters elsewhere around the ground.

well done all

Standing up is nto to be compromised. However, i am happy to stand behind Row Z - provided no-one is sitting in the seats (im not the tallest person around.

This will not be a problem when we grow so large that we occupy an enitre bay.

I agree with you, standing does create more of a presence- however as it grows you will need more space, so not everyone can stand behind row z unfortunatey. The more people that get involved the better, this has been a brilliant idea.

Im not sure you will ever find a solution where everyone can stand unfortunately without getting people that complain.

If you want it to grow as fast as possible the more positive feedback you get the better. Society seems to reward the whiners more than the doers nowadays, so its better not to give too many people a reason to whine.

I think you're being a tad bit ridiculous with this 'not to be compromised' hardline. The simple facts are: we cant all stand in the small standing area provided, and we arent allowed to stand at our seats for a fair enough reason. In the end, if some of us have to sit, then sit we will. Theres no reason someone sitting down cant join in just as well. The whole point of this thing is to try and help the club by boosting the support level at home games, not to dig in over something so pointless. Whether its sitting/standing/balancing on a pole/being held in midair by van Berlo's powers of telekinesis we can still do what we intended our job to be.

As much as you keep thinking that sitting has the same effect as standing, you're always gona be wrong.

Passion while standing > Passion while sitting.

Hell if people want to sit down its up to them - but i dont think i could go back to sitting down.

Neither you or ICDM are addressing the full issue though.

Standing may be the preferred option, unfortunately its not a practical one for the whole operation, as we found out on sunday. I dont agree with the statement that you have to be standing to get into it, otherwise the whole exercise is pointless. We arent going to get 50 000 standing at a home game, its impossible. If you want to limit the range of this thing to standing only, you are setting a very very very very small potential for it.

Tell you what, you continue to stand at your seat and see how long you last.

Why do you want to sit? What does it do exactly? Do you get more pumped up sitting or standing? Can you get to the bar quicker by sitting or standing? Can you be seen more by sitting or standing?

I'm not saying lets force people to stand but anyone who wants this Bay 114 thing to work, standing is the way to go.

I know you wont agree because you think you're always right but I think the majority would agree with me.
