Would be interested in player tracker to see how much goes on the other way as well.

I think he has more to worry about with the umpire contact to be honest.

Toby’s a campaigner but I can’t stand players like Newman who have no eyes on the footy, there to block and just play negative crap footy. I think he’s in trouble for the umpire contact though. However Selwood gets a fine for watching a bloke in the back of the head. Precedence has been set.

Intentional contact with an umpire whilst getting reported - will the AFL make a stand like they tried with the Curnows?

All fines or suspensions are done now under the Toby Greene rule.
Selwood has been know to do things not in a sportingmanner yet seems to be very untouchable.
Every one is equal, but some are more equal than others.

Daniel Howe gets the same fine for turning his body sideways when going for the ball and the Essendon player stuck his head straight over it.

So the guy with the correct action gets penalised for running in to the guy with the bad action.

And the guy who takes a cheap shot off the ball has to pay a fraction of his game fee for being a repeat offender.

Off the ball happens in every game and at every club.
Shouldn’t of even been a fine.

You know the AFL has various tolerance levels pending the player.

The AFL snuck this through. Because it is only a fine no one in the media cares but gives the AFL more ammunition to start charging the Mackay like contests because they are already penalising the same contests with a lessor impact

They have done fines before. But it penalises correct body placement when approaching the ball.

From an early age we were taught to get sideways to the ball as you approach it. But if you go head on and get collected you get a free kick and your opponent cops a fine.
