Well you beat the bulldogs who are 8th and who have only beat Richmond, Hawthorn and Adelaide.
You beat the Dees by a point and as you would admit, were lucky to win.
You kicked a total of four goals against St. Kilda who had no riewoldt for the entire second half and got smashed.
You then beat the box hill hawks who just got smashed by the bummers.
And then you beat the bummers who aren't travelling the best.
You then beat us coming off a tough bruising encounter with the reigning premiers who we defeated by 6 goals. Compound that with the six day break to your 7. Add to that the fact you squandered a 38 point lead to within a kick and you let the big Irishman kick 5.

What do you think?

God, not this stupid argument again. We had to deal with this crap last year. How many teams do we have to beat to get recognition?

Mate seriously, before you got here conversations had been pretty insightful and informative.

We are currently 5-1 and second on the ladder (by percentage) We lost to St Kilda, no shame in that.

Based on the 2010 season so far, i'd say yes, we are a good side. I'd also say based on todays performance we are a much better side than Carlton as well.

I know its traditional to hate Collingwood and it's pretty easy too, but seriously name a side so far this year that has preformed better than Collingwood besides St Kilda?

I don't even know why this is being discussed actually because you have no idea and can't see past your Collingwood hatred, which is a shame because everyone else so far has been pretty civil.

Like you said you are a much better side than Carlton. So you would agree you haven't really beaten anyone this year?

Congrats to Carlos "Crazy Horse" Setanta, absolutely great game. I had my doubts about him and although one game won't change my mind, I have seen a glimpse of what he is capable of doing and today was awesome. I look forward to him proving me wrong for many games to come.

Also although i am upset we lost and am upset with some of our players efforts, all in all we did try hard today , however beaten by a better side. As much as i hate to admit it Collingwood played great today.

Things have been civil but if Collingwood supporters flock in to give us a few compliments but remind us time and time again about how much better they are, it turns into a Collingwood lovefest on the Carlton board. Nobody needs to remind people what happened today until they change their mind. Carlton supporters see it their way on the Carlton board, Collingwood supporters offer something constructive and then move on I guess. Otherwise the responses will start getting predictable.

Cheers

Sydney has beaten Brisbane and Freo has beaten Geelong. Port has beaten St.Kilda. There are three teams that have beaten better teams than you have.

I understand you don't want this to turn into a bitch fest, and to be honest I never came in here bignoting collingwood. However it goes both ways, if i'm having a constructive conversation and some peanut comes in and starts raging on about how Collingwood are a terrible side and baiting obviously trying to get a reaction then surely they deserve the same warning.

I've been a pretty staunch blues advocate on these boards and have never been banned, but I think even the non carlton fans should get a fair go.

Ignore those that are being over the top. If they needlessly abuse I will do something about it. If they hold an adverse opinion about Collingwood, so be it. They have that right as the board is largely for supporters of that team to be parochial.

Like most of us visiting other team boards, you need to have your filter switched on only respond to genuine conversation.

I stated that good sides don't let bad sides get back to within a kick when they are 38 points up.

You asked if I was suggesting that Collingwood were not a good side?

I stated some facts about who you have beaten and where they are headed and asked, 'What do you think?'.

I not once referred to Collingwood as a terrible side.
Maybe you should admit that you haven't played anyone of real substance yet, (apart from St.Kilda, when you kicked four goals for the game!) and move on back to the Collingwood board if you can't understand that people on here may hate Collingwood.

Lots of positives and negatives in todays game. I am not overly disappointed, except for the fact that we lost to Collingwood, that sucks... but lets face it, they were far too good. They beat us fair and square and we buckled under pressure.

We still managed to score over 100 points, with great efforts by Setanta
(awesome with 5 goals), Murphs and ...Betts for being good score contributors.
Juddy was awesome, Russel played well, AJ was fecking fantastic on Davis and Armfield I thought played a ripper of a game. OH OH!! And I am so glad to see Bower back.
I thought Ratts decision to move Henderson down the back was good, White
played well up front and showed good future prospects.
Lucas showed why he is still in the team.
BUT... McLean... too slow, terrible disposal, needs to be dropped immediately!!
I also think that Henderson needs a stint in the twos, he seems to panic under pressure, he is great at sticking to his man, but his disposal today wasn't the best, he just doesn't seem confident... I actually felt sorry for him when he kicked it toward the boundary ... when it was suppose to go in the middle... hmmm.
I am also going to go as far as to say Garlett needs to be dropped... was too soft today.
Didn't play as well as we did last week, too many handballs, not enough pressure... but a great 1st half of the 3rd quarter (haha)... just need to play like that for 4 full quarters.
Good effort to the boys I thought... hard to beat a side that scores 150 points in a game.

yep, i think they are too. :(

*like the look of obrien,

Have a look at the fixture kids, its Round 6!!
Credit where it's due but fck me...it's the filth we're talking about. It's enough I have to put up with their moron supporters let alone Carlton fans pumping them up.
The Cats fans weren't running around telling the world how good we were last week.

When good sides are challenged they answer the challenged and kick into another gear, that is what we did.

So far Collingwood has beaten every time we have been put up against with the exception of a very strong st kilda outfit.

Based on your logic you have beaten absolutely no one of substance either and lost to 3 pretty average sides.

In answer to your question, I think we are a very good football team and our performance so far reflects that, can you say the same about your team?

This is in no way a troll but I guess you guys will probably red card me for this but here it goes;

While I agree you guys can certainly take more than a few positives out of the game i.e setanta, russell, judd and murphy I don't understand how more than a few of you arn't that dissapointed by the loss.

52 points is a fairly substantial margin, and from flogging the cats last week to this, the last thing I would be is satisfied.

When the pies lost to the saints a few weeks ago, I was furious. As shown last week you can match it with the best teams in the comp, anything less than that should be a disappointment.

Trust me Champ NOONE is heckin'g happy!!:mad::mad:

It's getting repetitive and the locals are not going to back away on their own board. You are not here to convince everybody how good Collingwood are. This board is largely for discussion about Carlton. Pleaes make the point once and either offer something new or just leave it be.

I agree Judd was brilliant today one of the best on the ground, however the one knock I have on Judd's game is he is never accountable for his direct opponents.

Collingwood rotated Pendles, Thomas, Wellingham and Johson on him today and all 4 had superb games. It's all well and good to get 40 touches, but when your opponents are also running free and your team is getting consecutive goals kicked against them he needs to tighten up.

So who was on Judd? Or did those 4 bunnies keep him to under 40 touches?!

Sydney has beaten Brisbane and Freo has beaten Geelong. Port has beaten St.Kilda. There are three teams that have beaten better teams than you have.

This logic is flawed. You beat Geelong last week and we smashed you earlier today.

I would have been happy for Judd to have 100 touches as long as none of your other players have an impact on the game and we win by 53.

:o:o Based on your logic the 3 pretty average sides that have beaten us this year includes your mob:confused::confused:
