Senior List
ye just thought i'd add in some things about todays training.
fevola was sick and only trained for about 30 mins. towards the end of training i walked into the carlton shop to find him spread out on the display bed with the carlton bed sheets having a rest and when i asked him did he have a big night or something he said he was feeling crook. also i watched closely the kids that are training with us and they really dont have much about them but i think its between probably hille or the small forward rover player that was mentioned on bigfooty a few days ago otherwise the others didnt show much. i was very very impressed with armfield and i rekon the club has really got onto something here, he just is like another mid that is ready to go he doesnt really need development, his disposal is quiet good and he has very good pace. as mentioned in the other thread it was a high contact training and i was a bit worried about the boys going to hard. wiggins came off with a cut head and got that straped up and also scotland floated back infront of a pack as he so often does and got cleaned up and was down for about a minute, it was worrying because as soon as he was hit the player behind him waved for the trainers franticly and i thought something serious had happend but he was fine so no worries. who ever identified that the reason stevens is wearing a white shirt was so that he doesnt get contact was right because in the drill teauge was running with him and no body touched him. he did some one on one work with craig bradley for about 10 mins just kicking and his disposal is still great. kruzer, browne and armfield where taken aside with a new ruck coach who i dont know i think someone said it was mckee but i hope not. either army or browne would toss the ball up and to begin with mckee wore a specky bag and kruzer was jumping on to it simulating a center square bounce, kruzer was finding it hard to get up to the ball with his jumps but when he did get up there the taps where perfect. then he and mckee went at it and where taping the ball down to browne or army. mckee was dominating and it shows that kruzer has a good 2 pre seasons to get through to become the eilite ruckman he is predicted to be as he looked like a child against mckee. in saying that there was a ball up in the forward pocket in the practice match drill they played and he played a great tap down to i think scotland who stolled in for an easy goal. the tap impressed everyone and we heard alot of "onya kruze" so that was good to see. from watching the training i can say that i think this year eddie will have a great year also i think we are in for a big one from sententa his skills and composure have really improved. i can also say that i think hartlett and blackwell are in for a nightmare as blackwell is just to small and he just wont fit into our mid which is sad because i like him and i think he is good also his dad played for us so i would like to keep it at carlton. hartlett because he is just so unfit also he was doing drills of marking on the lead and kept spilling them with minimal contact. i would add banister as one to struggle but today he was imprssive came trough with the fist alot and disrupted alot of plays. finally it was good to see sticks and greg swan watching the training with big grins on thier faces as they know we are set for a big year.
