You'd barely get a hitout.

When Goldstein missed v Richmond, Daw got 19 hitouts, Hampson got 51! Yeah you flogged them, but the rest of their side was s**t, it wasn't due to Daws performance.

As for Preuss, his VFL performances show he will be good, but he's a fair way off. Definitely a long-term option. But not a brag "we have Preuss AND Daw!"

Wasn't a brag, I actually think Preuss and Daw will be a good long term option, of course we'd be getting flogged in the ruck, that's a given.

I don't think the trade will happen, was more poo pooing this whole notion that we would want Lycett as part of the trade in the event it went through, which we wouldn't.

When you rebuild or reset it whatever they want to call it, you do go backwards.

Goldstein for Eagles 1st 2016 (~14-16), 1st 2017(~14-20) and 2nd 2017(~32-40). We pay 400k of his salary fo '17 & '18.

We don't need Lycett, we have Preuss & Daw.
This is for you, read the bit about trading your future first... Also may render WCE unable to trade first rounders after giving up 1 for Redden. (Need 2 out of 4 used)
If a club trades a future first-round selection, it may not trade any other future selections from the same draft. However if a club retains its future first-round selection, it can trade multiple future selections from other rounds.
So we cant give next years first and second.

Guess it won't matter, cos you're not getting him.

We don't have the currency clearly.
A better midfield and a stop gap ruck would be better than selling multiple firsts / players for Goldstein for us. Naita may take a while but our ruck stocks after 1 year aren't so bad that you sell the farm to fix.

Stranger things have happened though.

jesus imagine landing goldstein then what happpens when NN returns lol.

People saying the Eagles don't need Goldstein aren't thinking.

Naitanui will be out for most if not all of 2017. Lycett is a better forward than ruck at this stage. All three have picked up injuries in the past 12 months.

When Naitanui returns we don't want him rucking huge minutes. With NN he could play more of a ruck roving role resting forward to start with to build confidence and fitness.

Rucking is a tough gig, they get smashed and pick up injuries and sore bodies. Having three quality talls means they can rotate them and not play injured players. Norths have flogged Goldstein in the past few years.

What would it cost is the interesting part. Pick 12 + ?

What is the opportunity cost is the second question. Will the Eagles give up drafting a young mid at 12 to land a ruck who is nearing 30?

The only trade I would do would be Lycett + 34 + 2017 2nd rounder. No way would I be giving up any 1st rounders.

I'd look at offering up Yeo instead of Lycett as he fits the age requirement for Norths and they are looking for outside speed and carry.

North's just de-listed their fastest outside player with x factor and the next best just left for Collingwood.

It's been said for quite a while North has the inside mids covered but lack pack on the outside, and now they are even slower without Harvey and Wells.

Then again when you look at the North's list they need one or two of everything. One thing is for sure Goldstein will be long retired by the time North's next play finals. So if he wants success and the club is serious about rebuilding its time to get what you can for him and look to the next generation.

But please do us all a favor and don't trade him to Hawthorn. Norths have a bad history in setting up the Hawthorn list with quality players to win multiple premierships. We've had enough of that thanks very much.

Big Ben brown thank you darling is behind him and even mr potential Waite so not our best forward and mason wood is someone I'd rather than darling. So think before you write anything

About the only stat Brown leads is free kicks. Plus he gets 2 hitouts.

Jack in a poor year for him exceeded Brown's career best season.

Pfff least our forwards dont s**t themselves in a contest.. "Sniff sniff, you smell that?" Yeh its darling pooing himself in open space

You'd have Jack Darling in a heartbeat and you'd know it.

People ignore him throwing himself back into an oncoming pack and taking a great grab only minutes before.

The mind remembers what it wants.

Would be your best key forward

Outsider opinion.

Darling is a squib that has/had potential

BBB is clearly better than darling

Potential is potential!?!? :drunk:o_O

Mason looked good and tried hard but isnt in front of darling yet

Watch the 2015 Grand Final and this years final v the dogs. Why would any team want a player that turns into a jelly fish in finals?

Some can't handle finals football - Darling is one of them.

Watch his first final - turned the game in the 3rd quarter in a bruising encounter. Did that as an 18 year old

Not to mention in his "s**t final" this year he managed 12 possessions, 6 marks, 2 goals.

How'd Ben Brown go this year?

Brown didn't pull out of any contests.
