Whatever has happened to the so called 'next big thing' in Aus. tennis? Havent heard of him since that 5-set thriller against Sargis Sargsian a few years ago.

Has been quite ill over the past few years, he is playing on teh challenger circuit to get match fitness. In my opinion he won't make it, as his game does not suit the power hitting/big serve game that you need nowadays.
No weapon and a knob to boot!

That's really sad news, first I've heard of it (caught up just now with the SMH article by a friend).
First heard of him in a Disney Adventures kid-mag article in December 1997. Then a few years later he was a top junior making his first inroads on the main tour, so naturally was a fan of him who tried to watch every match. That '04 summer with him and Gucc was fun. Was saddened by the mid 00s injuries, when he made a return appearance at the Hopman Cup around '07, you could see the toll it had taken on him.
He was John Alexander's godson from memory, and a friend of Stosur. Little bummed out by this news.
