Day 9, in a word, wow. It had everything. In all honestly that may be my favourite day ever of watching Olympics. 4 golds, the Kookaburras winning an epic QF, Bol winning his SF, the high jump emotion, it was hectic from beginning to end. Day 10 looks good, the highlight for me is probably the start of the track cycling. We might not have many medal chances, but there’s something about the track cycling which is special.

Day 10 highlights include:

* Kayak singles begins with the men’s and women’s heats and SF
* Canoe double heats
* Women’s 200m heats and SF (Miller-Uibo, Ta Lou, Schippers, Fraser-Pryce, Thompson, Jackson, Battle; Aussie Riley Day in heat 7; it’s a loaded field)
* Women’s 100m hurdles final
* Hockey QF: Hockeyroos vs India
* Badminton women’s doubles gold medal match
* Sailing 470 men, Aussies in a great position
* Track cycling gets underway! Begins with the women’s team pursuit qualifying, medals up for grabs in the evening
* Equestrian eventing individual and team jumping team finals
* Men’s water polo Australia vs Kazakhstan
* Basketball Opals vs Puerto Rico
* Men’s 3000 steeplechase final
* Women’s 5000 final

Aside from the team sports , sailing and Bol do we have any gold medal chances? Swimming is over and we don't look like winning in track cycling hopefully we get surprised by a no name but can't see any.

Forgot all about the track cycling. Love watching that. Medal chances in both the team pursuits but gold unlikely. Denmark WR holders clear favourites in the men’s and most likely fighting for Bronze in the women’s.

Thanks for another great write up. Not to forget the Matildas in their semi final in the soccer against the Swedes at 9pm AEST.
Ohh missed that! And men’s long jump final, those early finals throw me. Wonder how Gayle is fitness wise, would love to see him able to give his best. Reckon it comes down to the Cuban and Greek, just wish/hope Gayle can pull something out, but greater chance he actually pulls out.

Our Dolphins greatest ever Olympics, claiming 20 medals, exceeding Melbourne with 9 golds and the most glittering ones count more than the others said our late coaching legend Don Talbot. Those trash taking (psyching out) Yanks said they'd sweep the pool. They finished a mere two gold above us. Again they underestimated the Australia swim team. Gary Hall got it wrong in Sydney 2000 and Lilly King here in Tokyo. Will they ever learn that water and swimming is part of the Australia DNA.

The Australian Eventing Team has dominated the Sea Forest Cross Country Course overnite jumping to second ahead of the show jumping phase.
Leading the way for our team is 8 time Olympic legend Andrew Hoy and Shane Rose both of whom yesterday posted clear rounds. Hoy finishing an astounding 10 seconds under the optimum time, despite a break in play due to a fall by the Swiss rider.

‘Sensational Sunday' – the most successful day for Australia at an Olympic Games with an incredible 4 gold medals.
The gold rush started where it has so often in the first week – at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre where Emma McKeon became Australia's most successful Olympic swimmer with 7 medals, making her Australia's most decorated Olympian with 11 medals overall. Almost immediately after her golden dash Emma joined Kaylee McKeown,Chelsea Hodges and champion anchor Cate Campbell in a golden 4 x 100 medley relay to wrap up our most successful Olympic swimming campaign in history.
The action then turned to the Ariake Sports Park where Logan Martin was looking to create his own place in history – becoming the first ever gold medalist in BMX freestyle. Hids eye popping routine for the gold was something else. This bloke looks like he was born on a bike. West Aussie sailor Matt Wearn had known since Friday night he was the Olympic Lasar class champion so his day at Enoshima was a piece of cake as all he had to do was turn up to stand on the middle podium with the gold around his neck while taking in our national anthem.

Anyone know anything about our kayaking team and their chances. Pretty sure like the rowers none of them went overseas for any competition.

Australia has won at least 1 medal at ever games since 1980 when John Sumegi got silver in K1 500m event. They keep changing events and a few Oz have won medals in.2 events we won gold in K-1 500m which Sumegi won silver, Nathan Bagley silver in 2004 and Ken Wallace gold in 2008 have been replaced with the K-1 200m.

I've seen a couple of prediction tables - Associated Press and Gracenote and there are no medalists in there.

Seems like Gold Coaster Mat Belcher and partner Will Ryan are in the box seat to win the Gold in the 470 sailing.

They came second in this event in Rio.
