Well Japanese might not be allowed to attend, and they are protesting against the Olympics, but their athletes have had a big day today. They had a gold and silver medal at end of day 1 but won 4 golds today, as the home team advantage again kicks in. Hopefully it fires up the Japanese to get behind the games and push to let those vaccinated in to a few thousand at each venue.

Day 1 medals were Gold men's 60kg Judo and silver women's 48kg judo.




Chinese have won gold in diving, shooting, fencing and 3 weightlifting evebts - 2 men and 1 women. Also in shooting have a silver and 3 bronzes.

Fantastic results for Japan. 5 golds and 1 silver is very efficient. And I have a feeling that a lot of Japanese are loving the Olympics right now.
