Summer Tokyo 2021 Day 2 Thread

No crowds, Basil on the call, but what a terrific first day of competition! Day 2 has a lot on the schedule, with some major gold medal chances on the cards.

Highlights include:

* Ash Barty first up at 12.
* Women’s 4x100 freestyle final. Aussies easily set the quickest time in the heats and should threaten their own WR. Anything less than gold would be disaster.
* Winnington in the mens 400 freestyle final.
* Smith in the 400IM final after setting the fastest qualifying time.
* Boomers get underway against Nigeria.
* Jessica Fox in the women’s kayak heats.
* Hockeyroos begin against Spain.
* Women’s cycling road race. Can Spratt win?

Plus so much more; it’s going to be a massive day. All swim finals will be during the morning/early afternoon session. Too bad I’ll be stuck at work for majority of it.

I agree. I'm all for including a more diverse set of sports/events but allowing airpods is a bridge too far for me.
