That's what I was just thinking - as Tanfield was he 3rd rider, he was effectively caught and therefore GB lost before the 4km was completed
Did he say anything about the time then? It was looking like they were going to be slower than Australia, which meant we would race the Kiwis for bronze.

German track cycling back in town. British dominance in that event broken. And USA cycling wins another bronze medal in the women's team pursuit and with Gary Sutton in charge of their program they will start winning medals, maybe like 30-40 years ago.
