A commentator on the radio 720 - I think it was Mark Maclure - said we have no one to go with Moore today.

My nearly 2 yr old started crying as I hurled obscenities at the radio and our MC in general...

Your nearly 2 yr old started crying because thought you might actually be ep2006?.....please ignore that question. :)

Tom keeping the tradition of our kids breaking out and then regressing the year after. His hands and intercept work has been elite this year but his fitness and 1v1 strengths has deteriorated. He has a tough off season ahead, where he not only has to get fitter but stronger as well. Definitely needs to improve his core strength and the strength in his legs.

Couldn't agree with this more.

Didn't get a good look at it yesterday so does anyone know how much of the game TB spent on Dixon?

Barrass is fine in my opinion
He is struggling but a young KPD needs to learn in the job.
He is projecting well for his age and is worth persisting with. Beat Redpath in a good 1 on 1 last week.
Delivery was too good too often yesterday as quick mids were able to stroll out of stoppages and deliver perfect passes to the big guys.
The Adelaide game at the end of last year is what he is capable of.
He has bulked up a bit too much and looks too heavy but he will get better.
Personally think that the McGovern moving around is probably causing him an issue as sometimes you can rely on him and then next play he is up forward which probably effects the way he needs to approach the contest.

Very good at intercept marking or coming over the top of a contest with a fist

It's his work standing shoulder to shoulder with his opponent that needs work - either gets outmarked in a test of strength or allows the forward to push off and get that metre of separation on the lead which is enough if the kick coming in is decent

Unfortunately it's not something that he's going to learn in the WAFL because he's stronger than most WAFL forwards and the kicks coming in aren't always as accurate

Needs to find the right balance between strength and speed - more work on core strength and less on a nice set of guns which look impressive but add unnecessary bulk that washes off speed and endurance

Think a bigger problem is if Mackenzie is playing and not going to the #1 key forward then what's the point of him being in the team? Certainly not for his elite intercept marking, damaging kicking or line-breaking speed.
Barrass needs to play alongside a shutdown KPD like a Daniel Talia to be most effective.

Guys like Schofield & Mackenzie should be taking on a bigger load down back. Otherwise they need to be moved on IMO.

Alternatively Barrass develops his game and does it all like a Michael Hurley or Alex Rance, but that's setting the bar extremely high.

Mackenzie is doing what Glass did in his last few years. Barrass will be there for the next 10 and its important that his defensive work progresses as Mcgovern will never be the lock down role. Mackenzie spoils well and has defended well on all the different type of forwards he has played on. He is slowly regaining his agility and his speed has improved. The fact that mcgovern moves like a smaller player, means we can play 3 talls at times.

He has to with mcgovern in the side and thats what i think the coaches want him to or else, mackenzie would be lining up on them.

Pardon?? I though McGovern held this title. Think Barrass needs to go back to EP for a couple of weeks and get him to work on his 1v1s. At present think McKenzie does this better so he stays in the side for now depending upon his form going forward.

MAckenzie is a terrible defender. He doesn't commit to contests, he stands in no mans land and gets burnt when he decides to commit too late. Tom will impact the contest. Mackenzie to go back to the WAFL, play good and drive his FA price up. Barrass McGovern is the way to go.
