The two free kicks were there and he isn't the first forward to get a freebie in the square.
But four goals or not he took 4? contested marks and caused the opposition all sorts of grief. The had no solution but to try and go outside of the rules to stop him. Any other young forward played his game everyone would be drooling over it.
Well done big Tom!

Nice reward for Tom, people, can talk shit all they want, 4 goals are 4 goals, more impressive was the marking imo goals are just a reward for his efforts, has deserved a few that he didn't get in other weeks.

Well done, Tommy. Very much deserved.

Now to watch the salty bitches complain on the main board.

What does that bring our tally to since 2011? 10 or something? Pretty good success rate, even if it's something as minor as a rising star nomination. Always nice to get that recognition.
The way Dale, Webb and McLean are going might end with a few more too!

Awesome to see some reward for Boyd on weekend. Hope he does even better this week.

WOW... i am honestly taken aback by that, i felt he had a real good look in but figured Toyd would have to kick 12 before they even bothered to nominate him seeing as he is already being judge to buddy franklin standards.

Well done to the selection commitee! And i mean that, clearly they actually looked at his overall game, as forward and ruck, and the presence he provided. Bloody woof woof, Well done to Big Tom, deserved!

Its amazing what a bit of confidence can do for a young footballer. He's been more heavily scrutinised than any other player in the AFL this year and it doesn't matter how level headed and mature he is, that sort of shit will weigh you down. He's somewhat relieved a bit of the pressure with that performance and maybe got a little reminder of what he's capable of. I'm expecting an even better game this week, that may not result in a bag of 4 because lets face it, luck was definitely on his side on saturday night, but that happens, its been the opposite every other week so far and he deserved a bit of luck and some reward for his hard work. I just want him to work as hard as he did on the weekend, take a few big marks and kick straight when he gets the chance, thats all I'm asking.

The Age reports 7 RS nominations since 2013 and the most of any club since 2013
