People saying boyd hasn't shown what wright has are forgetting that boyd did similar to the same opponents in Brisbane last year. As well as against stronger opponents in Hawks down in tassie.

But hur hur spud, hur hur 1 million.

Boyd kicked 4 in that game against Brisbane last year. One of 2 times he has kicked more 2 goals in a game in his career, Wright has already done this 4 times in his 10 games this year.

While it is not all about the goals, the thing that stands out to me is Wright's ability to impose himself in the air compared to Boyd.

Wright had 12 marks last week, 10 the week before and pulled down 9 and 8 in other games. Boyd has never taken more than 6 marks in a game.

Boyds has kicked 29 goals in his first 27 games. Buddy kicked 33 in his first 27 and turned out ok.
By round 16 in Franklin's 3rd season he had 101 goals from 50 games.

What other issues has he had off field?
I may have forgotten but I thought the latest one is the first transgression.

As for on field showings, again, why do most football followers need highly rated junior players to be superstars from the very beginning or else they become certain busts. I've never understood it.
I can understand his performances have left a lot to be desired but there is clearly a lot of ability there. Boyd is a very tall young man. Look at Daniher and how long it's taken him to start playing consistently. Tom Lynch is an inch shorter than those two and a couple years older and even he took a few seasons to really get going. They take time because they have developed longer than most of their counterparts.
Come back to this debate in 5 years time and we will have a clearer picture of where these two are going.
I think violently assaulting a teammate is enough of a record, I can't remember any recent incident like it apart from when Cuz decked Kerr (or was it the other way around?).
As has been said, most players that turn out to be 'superstars' or even very good players tend to show something within their first few years at least (see Wright this year, Lynch certainly showed glimpses in his first couple of years), Boyd is yet to do that.

Wright had one of the best and smartest defenders in the league on him last night, with a midfield that was absolutely decimated combined with some of the slowest ball movement you could see. Sure Lynch cops a lot of attention but think the criticism on wright is harsh. He's going to be a good player in any case.

Pulling out games like Tommy himself there, I wonder if we'll offer him a mil during his rookie contract
Seems like a good way to spend all that cap space you'll have when O'Meara and Prestia leave.

If both swapped teams last night Wright would have kicked at least five, i will see what Boyd does against the Bombers back line round 22 as Wright had a day out against them a few weeks ago .but i don't care what people say on here to be honest, i know Boyd will come good, it will all of a sudden happen for him one game and go from there.

If Wright has a bag of 5 against the Bombers its said he is going to be a star, what a break out game, if Boyd does it in round 22 it will have the majority of people on here saying big deal it was only against the top up depleted Bombers side, all based on people thinking his contract not football deeds and the fact not all players get with it in the AFL seniors at the same rate.

How about we actually wait for Boyd to do it before guessing what posters will say.

Wright has already done it, in half the games that Boyd has played.

Its a hyperthetic statement. They will if he does what wright did and score a bag of 5 or more against the Bombers IMO

Better delete the 3rd post in this thread then , are you dumb ?
It was obvious what the thread was angling at, I responded to that.

It's not hard to distinguish between that and your pathetic trolling.
