and along with that, I could see them having the worst midfield of the last 100 years kicking to them.Even if GWS skip Boyd I cannot see Melbourne skipping him as well. Clarke is injury prone and Dawes is a stop gap. Just think of the Boyd/Hogan combo for the next 10 years. They could be the next Buddy/Roughy or Roo/Kosi (both duos same age).
100% agree. You can draft and develop solid mids with the right people. KPF, the like of Boyd and when used in conjunction with Hogan will be massive!!Even if GWS skip Boyd I cannot see Melbourne skipping him as well. Clarke is injury prone and Dawes is a stop gap. Unless we can trade it for a gun, we'll use pick 1 to land boyd100% agree. You can draft and develop solid mids with the right people. KPF, the like of Boyd and when used in conjunction with Hogan will be massive!!
Agreed. He is the best talent and will rightfully go at P1.Unless we can trade it for a gun, we'll use pick 1 to land boyd
I agree with his idea. Not suggesting that they should go out and trade Patton this year, but get Boyd and keep Patton and then maybe wait until Patton is out of contract and tell him that you see him being behind Boyd in the long run (if that's the case) and if he asks to be traded then you do a deal and get something/someone very good in return.Shitcanning an injured number 1 Pick two years after drafting him is not the way to build a strong club culture. It would alienate just about everyone and the place would unravel.
No way they will trade him. If you expect your young players to show their loyalty and stick around then you would be well advised to deliver the same integrity going the other way.

If he demands the ball or attacks it hard just once in a game, the short answer would be no.Just how good is Boyd for those who watch him?
Any chance of being a Jack Watts type bust?
From last year again.
This is actually 6 v 1 as there is another Cannon player behind the pack.
Not bad considering he was still underage then.

From what I've read (mostly from aussierulesrules ) Boyd was regularly kicking bags compared to Watts who was picked based on a good last few games and combine results. They're far, far apart.Just how good is Boyd for those who watch him?

I don't see why GWS would take Boyd with pick one, the have Cameron and Patton who are both guns, surely they would choose a defender which they need rather than a tall forward?

There are no KPD that are rated in the top 10, why would they pick one at 1?
