He is always hanging out with his brother and other cats players. Doesnt mean anything re contract. What does mean something is we need a ruck and will have cap space.

Stanley was pick 21 after 6 years in the system id say tdk is worth about that early 20s pick.

To add further context, this was a late first round pick. And a late pick went back to the Cats with Stanley.

I reckon that’s bang on with TDK’s value. A good season may push it slightly higher.

From memory i think it was an end of first round compo pick (gws traded to bris for patfull i think, they traded it to us for christensen we forwarded it to the saints for stanley) but yep around that mark. I expect our r1 to be late in the teens so thats probably around the mark if carlton send a r4 back with him or something. Obviously if he has a great year he would be worth more than that but on current form he isnt worth more than a late 1st imo.
Like stanley hes had 6 years on a list and shown flashes without locking down a spot so i think its fair value.

Like it’s been stated many times it all depends on his form this season. Atm it’s looking more like a pick 25-35. If he has a big month or two at the backend of the season then a pick ~15 could happen.
ATM he hasn’t improved at all on last season so that may not change.

Car and Geelong have done a bit of business over the years... would they try to get a player involved? It has not always worked taking a geelong player but who knows.

As shown with Ven Rooyen or Georiades... I think it can worth change in a matter of minutes. Would we trade our r1 for him and get something back... Something in the P15/P20 range

my bet is yes. He would be closer to ready than any of the talls in this years draft, and just like your point with Stanley , we probably are willing to pay for that and hope improvement and consistency will come in the second part of his career.

Interesting point on the pick being considered a R1 pick. The saints had P21 and P22.. yet P21 is first round.

If rumours of him getting on the beers with the Cats boys in Torquay last weekend are true and thats the reason for his drop to the VFL, you'd have to think he is out of here.

Said from the start more than fine if we lose him, a first round pick would likely be much more valuable to our team if thats what his value is. Can't think of too many players harder to put a finger on their value at the trade table.

On performance a late 2nd at best but on potential and media hype seems an early-late first... Think it's somewhere between the two.

This is his 6th season correct?
For a guy in his 6th season, he should be taking the next step by now. Yes big men take longer as they say, but that starts at the 4th year... If Geelong don't get him doesn't phase me, but I think pick 30 is about what his worth as he hasn't really taken the step in becoming a good/great AFL player

We'd be probably looking to trade back into this year's draft.

I saw on our board someone floating the idea of a future first for TDK and this year's second-rounder. Maybe something along those lines could be worked out.
