It’s not so much the say on if he stays or goes, it’s more the approach we make to structuring a contract offer, what has previously be a pretty modest offer for 2 years might increase slightly as well as length.
It will also dictate our willingness to trade friendly, Henderson/Tuohy style, or take a leaf out of Dodoro’s book.
Port wins, Carl wins, people who hate Geelong win.... Geelong get treated like GC in the Bowes trade.Ratugolea to Port
TDK and Port F3 to Geelong
Holmes and Cats first to Carlton
Holmes is the player to tie this deal together, with Cats first rounder being slight unders on its own.
Everybody wins.
would fit in at an average team like BulldogsAverage player. Hopefully someone signs him for dumb money.

The Silvagni being crap part aged badly but it is a point a lot of your fans would have agreed with. This aged well.
Think its more like TDK made his choice. Pittonet on 200k a year for 4 years is hardly saying much other than the Blues want some long term security because their up and coming ruck talent is likely out the door. The Silvagni being crap part aged badly but it is a point a lot of your fans would have agreed with.
It does hit on a wider point too. You guys dominated that game because you had speed on the ball and were able to move it forward. You didn't have Pittonet and you lost McKay which dropped your height dramatically. Fundamentally you can't play Curnow, McKay as KPFs, Pittonet as a 1st ruck, then Silvagni and TDK as some kind of 3rd/4th tall forward - 2nd/3rd ruck combo.
It should be clear as day that you can only play one of Pittonet and TDK. Carlton made its choice.

What does "well on his way" mean? If there are clubs offering him big dollars, why is the club that is apparently offering him the least also the club leading for his services? Unless those fabled big offers are just Kane Cornes talking pointsTDK is well on his way to reach far greater heights than Pitto. Hence the interest from multiple clubs at big $.

You believe he's a chance to leave due to media reports about him but don't believe the figures being reported by said media reports... Makes sense...What does "well on his way" mean? What’s holding it up is Carlton want to sign him for 2 years, so that we can offer him a contract based on current output with a small amount of increase for potential, then in two years sign him for a longer term deal with more exposed form to determine his worth.then just sign him up, whats holding it up.
I believe the parts that make sense - that he would be seeking a trade. He is rightly behind a guy with a 4 year contract so zero surprises there. You believe he's a chance to leave due to media reports about him but don't believe the figures being reported by said media reports... Makes sense...

Multiple other clubs, despite what almost all the supporters on here think, have already determined that he has a very high potential and are confident in him reaching it, and as such are offering him a larger amount of money and much longer contracts. So there is a bit of a stand off between Tom banking money now, or the risk that in 2 years the money he’s being offered now by other clubs won’t be as much.
It does amaze me though the amount of opposition fans that seem to think this guy is a cold jacket potato, whilst also still wanting their clubs to get him.
Contrary to the bigfooty list management community, the afl list management community seem to have a very different opinion on him.
So only time will tell what happens, but I don’t think we all need to spend the next 4 months constantly talking down his ability for the sake of trade value. Geelong are a very smart club, they didn’t trade Sav last year because they saw something in him that very few football fans outside of savvy geelong supporters saw.
Perhaps there is a reason that at least 4 other afl clubs, including the best list management team in the competition (Geelong) are very keen on getting their hands on this guy…
Last year Luke Jackson got offered a 7 year contract on 900k a year based on 10 minutes of good footy in a grand final.I believe the parts that make sense - that he would be seeking a trade. He is rightly behind a guy with a 4 year contract so zero surprises there.
I don't believe the part where Sydney is offering 800k - because why wouldn't they just chase a different ruckman?
Are you suggesting TDK is anywhere near Luke Jackson? The discussion is getting a little far fetchedLast year Luke Jackson got offered a 7 year contract on 900k a year based on 10 minutes of good footy in a grand final.
Crazy stuff happens when ur trading supremely athletic KPP players. TDK has the athletic profile to be the best ruck in the game, whether he gets there or not is a totally different story and one I have long thought he won't fulfil, but his potential is as good as anyone so teams are willing to take the gamble.
My point was that teams offered insane deals to Jackson despite being pretty well unproven aside from glimpses. TDK has been offered less ridiculous but still rather outrageous deals by multiple clubs for the same reasons. Potential has value in the AFL.Are you suggesting TDK is anywhere near Luke Jackson? Correct. You got me.you are the one that declared "Carlton's desire to keep him just went up exponentially" so I take that as you removed yourself from the bigfooty list management community and you are in fact work in the carlton list management.
I agree with what you're saying in principle, but, again, you're saying Jacksom was unproven. I mean, can you think of anything that might have proven him as a player that happened before he was traded? My point was that teams offered insane deals to Jackson despite being pretty well unproven aside from glimpses. Well if the point being made was that a player with substantially less ability but the same athleticism is worth the same then that point is wrong. I'm trying to figure out what other points are being made but I'm at a loss.Especially when people miss or ignore the point to a post yet choose to respond to it anyway.
It's pretty obvious the two weren't being compared on ability.
Jacob Townsend premiership hero. Give him 900k a year for 7I agree with what you're saying in principle, but, again, you're saying Jacksom was unproven. I mean, can you think of anything that might have proven him as a player that happened before he was traded?

I'm 99% sure he was taking the piss.....but being Bigfooty Trade board, you can never be quite sure....Port wins, Carl wins, people who hate Geelong win.... Geelong get treated like GC in the Bowes trade.

I cannot tell if you are being serious. TDK doesn't have the same potential as JacksonJacob Townsend premiership hero. Give him 900k a year for 7
Freo paid up because of his potential not because he played 10 minutes of exciting footy in a grand final.
