No reasonable manager would let an in demand player like TDK sign a long term deal on 450k a season.

I just hope we aren’t still interested at the figures being branded around. He’s decent he’s not north of 750k decent

According to this Carlton is offering 600k and the cats offer is less so mark Geelong in the "not a steal" basket

Whilst Sydney and StKilda have interest and may/can offer more.

Whether you agree or disagree there are clubs who think he has that potential and will pay up for him.

The talk of getting him in on an average wage. Ludicrous.

I can understand your thinking when your paying Williams 900k+ and McGovern 800k
600k for a TDK is a bargain!

Not once have I said how I value TDK. Just telling it how it is Ron Dog.

Someone will overpay, hopefully it isn’t Carlton, he may reach that level but he isn’t that player now.

Sounds like you'll safely offload him, but given at least one club is not offering that its not ludicrous

Shouldn't you be watching the game tonight 🤔

The Saints would be crazy.

Marshall, King, Caminiti and Heath along with Jack Hayes if he get’s fit again and young Keeler to develop with Van Es at the other end
Exactly. Heath is coming along really well and looks like he could be another Marshall type, while Keeler is a freak-show, who has more natural football talent than half an AFL list. Then there’s Caminiti, and why the hell would we want to have TDK likely pushing him back into the ressies!? With Hayes also up our sleeves.

SOS’s chronic narcissism looks like it’s running the show as per usual.

The media have a lot to answer for here. Johnno Brown described him on Monday night as a “generational talent”, worth “two first rounders”. What absolute nonsense.

At least by the time Rhys Stanley was traded he’d had a breakout dominant game of

19 disposals
14 marks (3 contested)
13 hitouts
5 marks inside-50
3 goals 2
2 Brownlow votes

And had shown the versatility to play a season down back, as well as of course showing he could play forward and ruck. (Averaged a goal a game in his last two seasons playing forward/ruck).

He's borderline best 22 in a middle-of-the-table team.

Sure he might attract some premium for 'potential', but I doubt clubs are lining up to pay him superstar wages on what he's shown so far.

hindsight is 20/20 but geez geelong would really appreciate having darcy fort on the list right now

would be a good stopgap to conway and would not need to consider de koning

Not really fort is a D grade backup the same as ceglar. Nil all draw there

I think I read Luke Jackson was paid something 78k per mark so far this season.

Praying we pick up Naismith in the MSD

He would be silly to sign a long term deal on anything less. His manager will be telling him the same thing.

Has he ever actually had a breakout game? He’s taken some decent grabs, looks fairly mobile, but never seen him actually dominate a game or do anything to suggest he’s worth more than the pick he was taken with.

For comparison, Lewis Young was traded for Pick 52 (three way trade with SPS) while playing for a better side. This talk of huge contracts and first rounders makes no sense
