You always take the numbers with a grain of salt but as I said a few pages ago if the reports are even half true we will be well compensated at the trade table.

These rumours don’t just come from nowhere. There’s clearly a bunch of interest in Tom from multiple clubs.

of course there is, he will then choose a prefered club and then the said club will look at his output this year and negotiate a trade with carlton and get it done like any other trades.

1 yes there are clubs interested in TDK

2 Sydney offering 800g for him? I highly doubt it... Sydney name will only bring used as high money is because Buddy won't be there...

Well compensation for a player who done bugger all, time will tell..

If Esava was going to be traded rite now, I'd say Esava is worth more than TDK, and that pick would be a high 2nd rounder..

A poster has just posted a quote from Scott Lucas (Sean Darcy's manager) saying he hasn't even talked to Geelong in respect to Darcy. If the media quotes on Geelong's bid for Darcy are that much BS, why do you think any of the media reports on De Koning offers are at all accurate?

No, I'm saying let's not pretend that the journalists are after anything except clicks, and so are incentivised to post/write/talk about the most extreme things they can. Encouraged by player managers who are potentially in discussions with clubs and want speculation increasing their players' values.

That doesn't stop fans from having a discussion about what they think TDK is worth, whether they'd like him at their clubs, what his upside versus risks are, and where he might go. It just doesn't move the discussion very forward to act like its realistic that clubs are offering him 7 year deals for extraordinary dollars. When most opposition and Carlton fans think that is ludicrous.

If any club offered that your club would jump at it.

If a player wants to leave a deal will be done and no club is going to get bent over and hand over something unreasonable for an average ruck.

I'm entitled to not be supportive of trading TDK for a pick in the late teens.

I've seen enough to TDK to bet that his output from here will far exceed what you would typically get from a player picked in that range. Personally I rate TDK and think he's got the potential to play solid (worst case) to very good (best case) footy for the next decade.

The other consideration is that if TDK goes Carlton loses all ruck depth behind Pittonet and will need to trade for a ready-made ruck this year. Unless we've got some other club's #1 ruckman lined up it leaves our list with a massive hole.

History says that at this point of the season if he hasn't re-signed he is gone. I just hope the club is either (A) getting overs or (B) has someone else lined up to fill the void.

Don't think anyone thinks anyone is sending him to the PSD. He's not a valuable enough player to torch a reputation on.

Some media reports are accurate though ? Some aren’t.
