Though I have to say thats a pretty hefty fine for a "hit" that had Dawson racing downfield to take advantage of the 50 metre penalty within 10 seconds of the incident....

yeah but it was clumsy albeit instinctive IMO.

Clumsy is not a defense anymore.

it was that one angle of video that made it look like Hawkins was in the roller derby. as it happened it seemed like an awkward continuation of play with an unfortunate and unintentional strike.
it takes a stronger internal will to watch video replays in slo mo and not get sucked in. need to keep in mind the speed with which it happens and what its like being an athlete in the middle of the play. its especially hard when its hated opposition players
