He knew the Caddy for Lids thing was coming up... and got to hospital for the headache it created...Don't know what's happening, but a few hours ago Tom instagrammed a pic of himself in a hospital bed.
Cant see that anywhere?Don't know what's happening, but a few hours ago Tom instagrammed a pic of himself in a hospital bed.
B is important, but I'm going with D. I get that there isn't much space to lead into if our ball movement from defence is slow, but it's harder to double or triple team a man on the move ahead of a man calling for it to land on top of his head in the square. If he's crashing a pack on the move around 30m out I think it creates better opportunities for crumbers than the long predictable ball to the square. Think about the Hawthorn QF. He was always presenting, moving up and down the field, creating havoc and almost everything was going through him. The worst instances were the two Sydney games where his feet were seemingly glued to a spot 15m out.Which of the following would help most without Hawkins being doubled up at the time?
a) Hawkins to play CHF
b) better ball delivery from our mid
c) get another tall in a quality of Josh Bruce
d) Hawkins to lead rather than wrestling
Yep. B would make the greatest difference. A might force some changes that would help. D is irrelevant in the current environment and method of ball movement. Hawkins leads when there is space and doesn't when there isn't.B comfortably and with the caveat of the ball movement being quicker.

true and trueD is entirely dependent on B. We tend to bomb it in on the poor bloke's head, then wonder why he stays put and wrestles. It's because he has to defend where the ball is going to land. If we kick it out in front of him he has no choice - to get to the fall of the ball he must leave his opponent and lead.
That's one perspective. But what comes first - the chicken or the egg? If I have the ball around the midfield my first option is look for players presenting. Failing that, it's a long kick to a 1v1 or pack as the get out option. I agree, it is brilliant when players can use a kick to direct traffic. It's even better when a forward line is doing this off its own bat.D is entirely dependent on B. We tend to bomb it in on the poor bloke's head, then wonder why he stays put and wrestles. How good was Menzel by the way? Makes me sad for him that he could've been anything, but to get back to the level that he is at is amazing.Shame Menzel wasn't 2 inches taller. He'd be just like Jesse Hogan and we'd have a pretty decent combo
Is that Podgey's new Geelong obsession thread or somewhere else?Have to love the bay. They are actually criticizing dan Menzel for being a failure after dominating last night. And in a weird twist they are also talking up his brother.

Yep although its infiltrating multiple threads on that board. Is that Podgey's new Geelong obsession thread or somewhere else?
