With a supposed crackdown on jumper punches and anything else resembling a punch, I'm guessing they'll start this week by making an example of Tom Hawkins again ... Jack Steven and Zac Jones smile on in the background.

So how much is a jab to the neck worth these days?

I'm guessing 3 down to 2. Silly man Tom, silly man.

Given the tool had time to make sure he over reacted and look for the umpire as he fell

Of course he'll get weeks, it's the hot button issue.

It may not be entirely deserved but I don't feel sorry for him over this one. Should have known better.

I agree but the issue I have is they had that exact opportunity last week and dropped the ball.
So Hawkins will cop the hit because they were too gutless to do anything last week.

Last weeks two incidents were body punches, this one was much higher and from somebody who should know better.

If Hawkins is suspended then the question needs to be asked why not Cotchin.

It saddens me how much we've sanitised this game.

They've eliminated the thuggery, and outright violence, but they've swung too far the other way imo.

We ask grown men to compete relentlessly, we roar at them over the fence, but expect choir boys?

Asking athletes to compete on the edge, with their testosterone and white line fever at its peak, but control themselves in a clinical, cold manner seems a contradiction.

We have a guy vomiting on the sidelines a week or two ago from a blatant punch to the stomach, but everyone wants to make an example of Hawkins love tap?? Sheesh

I agree to an extent, but the MRP doesn't believe in precedent so each case has to be taken independently. He's gone because of his own poor judgement, it will look bad because of how poor the MRP is.

Difference is Hawkins will get one week unfortunately
