I found it amusing the comments above about Foxtel - commentators were immediately dismissive of the incident, even suggesting Sicily was trying to milk a free. Not sure about post-game shows, I tend to ignore them.

If they had watched it - they would have seen Sicily still on the ground whilst Hawkins was unmarked in the goal-square 10-15 seconds later....doesn't sound like milking for a free to me.

Watch the footage ... Sicily elbowed Hawkins in the back, Hawkins swung around behind him and elbowed him in return. I expect Sicily probably hit him 20 times before that to finally trigger Hawkins to react.

If he gets fined I would challenge it - the tribunal can consider provocation as defense.

The degree of overreaction was astounding.

Hawkin's left arm makes contact the back of Sicily's right arm, yet he drops to the ground as if shot and instantly grabs his lower back.

What they are saying is that based on the season so far there is nothing there.
However the AFL should penalise these things and take them out of the game.
It is too late as the season us underway and they have not penalised this so far.
I agree to this and so would most other followers.

Hawkins has been made an example of for jumper punching and umpire contact in the past.
Having said that there is no excuse even if sadly he had an issue off-field.

The game was pretty one sided at that time so they had plenty of time to talk about nothing.

Unfortunately for hawk I think one week after the dangerfield incident I am holding my breath.

Not much in it but a very big man and he had a poor record for doing things like this.should be a fine and move on.

But phil davis got a fingertip on his neck and Hawkins got a week.

So Sicily probably has something on his medical report seemed to be spooking about it. See what happened I am concerned though
