Everyone wants him gone. He's a hard nut who has no decision-making skills and horrible kicking, so I've heard. He was pretty much described as "another Jake King". So if he is, why do we want to get rid of him? There's no reason why he can't do that King did. Thoughts?

He is lazy and would rather be out partying. Kingy works his ass off and keeps himself in top condition. Hislop can't even get himself fit enough to play midfield.

Ah. Wasn't aware of that. Well Richmond would know if that's true or not so we should make the right decision.

Like Spluff said, he's a lazy party animal as opposed to King who works his ass off. Delisted along with Polo. Both lazy. Hislop was booted from Essendon, by accounts, on discipline issues.

Im a Hislop fan, but he would be up against it to remain on the list next year. If he is serious about playing afl he needs to trim down similar to what jordan lewis did so that he is able to run around as an in and under midfielder, as that I believe Essendons intention was when the drafted him with an early pick..20 odd I believe in 2006.

Talent I think is there, the application well only Richmond will know as someone mentioned.

Not everyone. Im backing him in for next year if he can be injury free and have a big pre season. Im confident Dimma and Leppa will work their magic. Im hoping he will turn into a quality HBF so Lids can get back into the midfield where he belongs.

And i will make the call now... He will not be delisted as everyone keeps saying. But thats only my opinion.

Doesn't have the tank or the pace to play midfield - and he showed a bit at Essendon as an inside midfielder, but hasn't showed any of that potential at Richmond - he's pigeon holed into a big bodied, one paced HFF who's a bit better than competent above head.

Had to make inroads this year but unfortunately for him injuries got the better of him. In my opinion doesnt have enough upside to persist with him for another year. Maybe rookie list at best.

Why would we want someone who's slow and has poor kicking skills on the HBF?

You wouldn't be the first one to make the call he will get another contract, that rumour has been around for awhile. I hope it's not true and he's delisted. He's hopeless. Tim Fleming mk2.

He hasnt had a real chance because of injury for his entire career. All im saying is give him one solid year if possible under Dimma, if it fails big deal, no harm done. Out of all those who should be delisted i think he has the most upside.

Why would we have Hislop on the HBF when O'Reilly, Webberley and Tambling all have heaps more upside in that position?

It's not hard to have more upside than McMahon, Polo, Simmonds, Thomson, etc.

If it fails it is a big deal. It means we wasted another year on someone who clearly is not good enough instead of getting another kid on the list. I hope they're ruthless with delistings again this year. We're still 15th for a reason. 6-8 have to go at the very least.

Too many players have gone past him. Would only be played in a forward pocket, HFF or wing position. Collins, White, Nason, Taylor, King, Morton, Edwards plus another in Pick 6 are already at a higher level. That also does not include 3rd talls and resting mids. So he should be delisted!

Ironically his injury could save him...denied him a fair chance to prove himself...still young...obviously no star, but personally never thought he was quite as bad as everyone made out...reckon he has a bit more natural talent than most people think....certainly more than certain players that have been much vaunted on this board of late... still yet another one I won't lose sleep over though, having said all that...

GONE.

A hard body, and the ability to read where the ball is going to be, only gets you so far when you don't have a clue where it should go, and any ability to deliver it. He'll be a good 'burbs player somewhere.

we need players with balls, hislop has them
I say keep
started the year okay..

no value in a trade, wont get anything for him. delist

The depth arguement is ridiculous. Depth does not refer to having crap players not getting a game, but decent players not getting a game.

The fact that we are talking about delisting him after he has already been delisted by one club says it all for me. Hack and not a good pick up, was a stupid decision at the time and has proven to be.
