No. He was trying to hit Gaff but got him in the head with the elbow. Have a look at your forearm. Your elbow is there at the end of it.

So he was trying to hit Gaff in the head? He can't of been aiming for the body otherwise he would of kept his arm tucked in.

Hitting someone deliberately in the head with the forearm isn't that much better then hitting them in the head with the elbow.

What he did has no place on footy field or in society for that matter

A bloke in Bunbury WA was found guilty of assault ......why can't police lay charges in this instance ?

Why the hell not ? Clear vision and in full public view .....what chance do we stand of stamping out violence if we allow this to be four weeks

I would like to see police investigate incidents like this one ......and police speak with the Afl and clubs to stamp this out

Settle down the outrage. I dont think this was a deliberate elbow. I think Jonas was trying to done some sort of forearm push and got super clumsy. Should go straight to the tribunal. I liken it to the Hodge on elbow on Swallow. Deliberate forearm gets clumsy ends up with three. Given Gaff KO'd!!! Yer maybe a big holiday for him.

The replay can be deceptive with intent, but it seemed like he only committed harder, and decided to go with the elbow, after Gaff had hands on the ball.
Has to be deemed deliberate, definitely high contact, and pretty forceful. Whether high or severe, that's straight to the tribunal.
Probably five, maybe six.

For mine, that's worse than the May hit. May's was garbage but at least it was a bump vaguely in the contest for the ball. Jonas had no intention for anything other than elbowing a vulnerable guy in the head. The ultimate coward's act and I'd happily see him get 7.

He went close to doing the same to Dangerfield a month or so ago when he jumped into him after a mark. He intentionally wanted to hurt both players it is just today it worked.
