Déjà Vu at its most obvious here. Matching up with how the Prestia trade went down and funnily enough, matching up with the chatter on this board last year as well in regards to Prestia not actually being that good/we don’t need him/can’t pay him too much.
The parallels are crazy lol.

If he isn’t a Richmond player in 2019 I’ll be shocked.

Don’t see Gold Coast matching either. They would only be doing it to their own detriment.
At this rate they will be getting two picks in the top 3... At the very worst, two in the top 5.

People are looking at this years performances too closely. Rewind one year and Tom Lynch was a pipe dream and 98% of posters wanted him but laughed it off like it was never going to happen.
We have a ready made Jack Riewoldt replacement about to walk through the door who will not only learn off Jack, but also the best backman in the league, Rance.
Recruiting Lynch cements us as a contender for the next 3-5 years.

Cap space won’t be a worry, with the cap increasing next year by a mill or so, plus the delistings, retirements. We won’t need to cut any key or developing players.

The recruitment of Lynch gives us the best chance of winning another two or three flags and making this period of Richmond history incredible.

Thought I would share this with everybody on bigfooty.. Last year I was in an Aussie pub in Germany on grand final morning cheering the boys lift the cup (I was at Oktoberfest in Munich). I saw Tom with a few gold coast boys obviously on end of season trip.. Just as they were lifting the cup tom stood right next to me, I tapped him on the shoulder and when he turned to me, I said with a huge grin, hey Tom, come to the tigers next year.. He just laughed and turned back towards the screen.

Just thought I would add, if he ends up at the tigers, I am officially including myself as part of the recruitment team who got him over.

Judging from last nights game McCartin could well be a player for them. Took some good leading marks and Astbury himself said in a couple of years the kid is going to be a handful.

If they’ve got Buddy and that kid waiting in the wings, Moore should definitely NOT be a priority.
They've got Sam Reid too. Just re - signed recently

Great work. Give yourself 10% when he signs;) $80,000 = Euro 50,000. Should keep you in beers for a while

True, I hadn't thought of the Prestia deal and it has many similarities. Two key differences though.

Trade wise, Lynch might be free, which is a huge plus.

List management wise, Prestia was before Dusty's deal, Lynch after. We knew we could afford Prestia without losing players. Whilst the club tells us the same with Lynch, I'm a little nervous.

Really dont believe we need Lynch to be honest, Im really liking the way our KPF are developing in the reserves playing the Richmond style football

Coleman-Jones plays foward and regularly kicks goals and is a fantastic mark and when he has played ruck has been very very impressive for a 1st year kid
Noah Balta , The signs are he is going to be very special player and an aerobic physical beast that can play just about any position
Moore , Has shown very good signs in the seniors and also plays to a high level regularly in the 2's and is coming along nicely
Chol has taken a big step foward this year until getting injured and was on the cusp of a senior game

All the above player will be that much more advanced in 12 months time with another preseason and learning

I really dont believe we are 'Desperate' For Lynch and would be better served investing in the midfield

The names you mentioned showing good signs at VFL level. But they are 3 yrs away from being consistent AFL standard players if they make it.
The time is now for Lynch while Cotch & Co are firing on all cylinders.
No brainer really.

Funny thing on what the players did with Conca. There's a story in my mind about when the tigers were trying to get a player over (may have even been Treloar) and Maric rang the player and was explaining how we are a brotherhood at Richmond. I guess he wasn't speaking shit. It's a real thing.

This happens at every club but at the same time we could also roll off another bunch of names like
Riewoldt
Rance
Grimes
Astbury
Hogg
Gale
Richardson
Ottens
etc
etc
etc

Its all about what we will give up for him is my concern , Are you happy to give up our next 2 1st rounders plus a player along with $1 mil
