All the indicators are pointing to Tom being a tiger, the interesting part of this is the time of the announcement regarding his sister.
It seems to me that RFC are conditioning the public that it's going to happen and he will be a Tiger.

Tom is off for 4 weeks due to injury
Announcement of his sister is now a tiger

It's all adding up.

This might be the greatest thing I've seen on this board.... and I've seen a lot of great things.

I'm all for Tom coming to Tigerland, the game will go through more changes and the chances are that Tall forwards will be back in vogue eventually.
We need to stay ahead of the trend and playing a small forward line works at the moment until coaches work out a way to negate the advantage.
Yep, just as everyone starts to go small and quick, the Tiges revolutionise again with a 5 tall forward line. Lynch, Riewoldt, CCJ, Balta and Garthwaite wreak havoc on midget backlines and make sides play catch up again.

I don't think we should go after Lynch. History suggests teams that poach established big name elite players don't go on to win flags.

Buddy to Sydney - 5 years no dice yet
Danger to Geelong - Not looking likely
Treloar to Pies - Well they do have a "better list"
Plugger to Sydney - No flags
Buckley to Pies - No flags

Did work once with Hall to Sydney I guess but there is a definite pattern. Draft and develop from within and trade for a\b graders who fit our mantra and will buy into the gameplan. That's pretty much how we got to the position we are in now.

What about Hawthorn poaching Gibson, Frawley, McEvoy and Lake? Dogs poaching Tom Boyd? Richmond poaching Prestia?

All of those teams except Sydney (Buddy) were nowhere near their windows at the time (2015 Geelong finished outside the 8, Danger dragged them back in) and Sydney played two GFs as favourites since Buddy arrived so not sure I agree with you.

But no flags still - it's more a karmic thing lol. Not saying we won't be better with him but the footy gods seem to frown on it ;)

Something that I don't believe has been mentioned, apologies if it has, is why would Tom Lynch contemplate staying at a club with such a terrible history of managing injuries? If I was Tom and I was injured (especially a knee) I would have already told the club see ya later alligator. Maybe he already has.

Further to that,He only has too look at our recent history in regards to player management.

I've thought this since Dimma said we were into him in the pre season. It made no sense unless we were conditioning the public.

There was such backlash when the swans got Tippet/Buddy, people were outraged and called it unfair. This gives the public time to understand how we can afford him and prepare for us to get him.

Also, it forces GCS to accept he's leaving and start thinking about trades
