We dont need him. He really isnt that good. The guy doesnt tackle, doesnt run and chase and if you're selling the farm then you're upsetting the cart.

It's a solid NO from me unless he is available for under 800K. If he took unders it would indicate he is willing to prove himself.

Only Fyfe can come into RFC on that kind of cash.

We are king of the hill, and should not be paying overs for a Fwd who shows glimpses. FFS he aint Buddy.

Cut it in half and its no discussion. Wont happen. Around the 1M mark if hes willing then im keen.

Then again i have full faith in Balmey and his crew to make the right decisions going forward

Yes their is a lot of talk going on about Lynch coming to Tigerland...not sure what to believe at the moment...
But what I do like reading about is that his sista is going to play for the Tiger's women's team...that just may well be the tipping point for him...
Wait til we appoint Granny Lynch as our coach.that will put the cat amongst the pigeons.

Wont go into my work details but i meet and drink with a fair few big wigs, last night over a beer with one of lynch mangers mates i was told in simple form, lynch has not comttited to any club and simply put highest bidder wins out of the powerhouse vic teams. Bloke wants a good chance at success but will sign with one of the top vic teams over others for money.

If that's they way Lynch thinks then we don't want him. If it's all about the cash he is better off going to where all the other mercenaries go to see out the days Colonwood. I would throw everything at Fyfe or Cripps forget Lynch, Fyfe can play tall and we could rotate the midfield into the forward line.

If this is true than we all had a simple view of Lynch's character, good bloke want's premiership success and the money isn't important yada yada yada he sounds like a campaigner that is only interested in the money.

Maybe Rance and the rest of the leadership team already know this about him

I remember this but don't think that is entirely true, as I think it is years as well. being offered $5m over 5 years is still better than $2m over 5 years.
I'd have to be gassed to look it up. ... See below

https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl...free-agency-compensation-20180221-p4z16j.html

Key components of the compensation system include:
■A free agent paid $2 million over two years will be ranked higher on the compensation table than one who is paid $3.5 million over four years. The length of contract is only a ‘‘tie-breaker’’ if annual salary is equal to another player. The contract must be at least two years.

So you are right. But only if they need to 'make a decision' on whether to increase or reduce the compo.

So if you load up the first 2 years to above the top 5% of AFL players then you pretty much guarantee a first round compo.

my biggest concern going after a tall forward is this:

our entire game plan is based around every player on the field buying into that defensive pressure when we don't have the ball.

as we have seen on occasions, if 1 person isn't pulling their weight, the whole thing almost falls apart and the opposition will find easy ways through.

will we get the same kind of buy in / application from a KPF?

my only thought is that maybe this is part of a new game plan going forward in 2019 that we are developing and working on. Casue I'm not totally sold it would work in our current game style unless they chase and pressure as much as one of the blokes they would be replacing.

Tell you now maybe he is in my view half as good as Jack or his replacement.Jack tackles pressure and works hard to when not involved and awesome at ground level and has a great footy IQ.Haven't seen this with him. That's why i have so much appreciation for Jack.

Then he won't be at Richmond.

There you go guys. It’s over

Lynch to #Go North! confirmed :(
He said "a good chance at success". Anyway, Norf has Ben Brown, who is better than John Coleman and Plugger combined.

He really is that good, Dice. He does run, is a Nick Riewoldt-level aerobic athlete. He's shown way more than glimpses. Is an absolute gun.

Lazy. Lol. The bloke runs more than just about any key yforward in the game.

Lynch is a better runner than Townsend and Jack. Towner basically plays as an undersized defensive key forward. Lynch would take his spot, open space with his running, and take the heat off Jack.

Let's get this straight: Lynch is a deadset GUN. We don't want to sell the farm to get him, but if we can do it without upsetting any carts, apple or otherwise, it's a no-brainer.

Lynch is not going to get $1.4 million a year for 6/7 years - No Chance unless he stays at GC

Lynch will be around the $1 million a year range over the course of 6 or 7 years

The contract may be structured where to get his as a free agent it may be gigh in the first 2/3 year the lower over the remainder but will be at around the 1 mil range.

Tom Lynch has the potential to be the best Foward in the game at Richmond, He will be very different to the player you see playing at GC
