Would likely mean Mitchell can focus less on being the anchor defensively and more on hunting the ball inside, feeding the likes of Sidebottom, Daicos, De Goey etcThe emergence of Long as a hard bodied, midfield beast means there is no need to rush him back. Will be handy in September.

Long can be the sweeper and stop offensive thrusts out the front, Mitchell as the in and under and Daicos would be a good trio to have in there. De Goey, Sidebottom and others rotating with dynamic tendencies and skill.

No. List is tight. He'll need to perform in the second half of the year.Tom's out of contract this year?
Is there any certainty that he will be offered a new contract?
It's awful knowing that some of our oldies will be going, I just hope that it's mostly voluntary retirements.No. List is tight. He'll need to perform in the second half of the year.
Now them's fighting wordsI think people forget how poor Mitchell was before his injury, game looked like it had gone past him. Even in 2023 up until finals he was slow and clumsy. The same people wanting him back into the team are probably the same people who wanted him dropped ats tart of last year.
Only way he gets into the team is if Long get injured.

Coxy is the only one who might volunteer. The rest are liekly to have their hand up to keep playing. It's awful knowing that some of our oldies will be going, I just hope that it's mostly voluntary retirements.
Which then comes the force tap on the shoulderCoxy is the only one who might volunteer. The rest are liekly to have their hand up to keep playing.
Am sure we all have our favourites, I know who I least want to go but some of them will have to and it will be heartbreaking and not just for them.Coxy is the only one who might volunteer. The rest are liekly to have their hand up to keep playing.
They are all still playing good football so we might not lose any. It's awful knowing that some of our oldies will be going, I just hope that it's mostly voluntary retirements.
just wait til pendles retires lolAm sure we all have our favourites, I know who I least want to go but some of them will have to and it will be heartbreaking and not just for them.

That'll be a celebration of an amazing career. I won't find that sad.just wait til pendles retires lol
Yeah, I agree we need to keep these players.I think most of them will get contracts.
Howe, Sidey, Pendles, Checkers, Elliott are all still really crucial and still playing excellent footy.
definitely a celebration. That'll be a celebration of an amazing career. I won't find that sad.
No doubt we will get him back a few years later in the coaching dept, so not goodbye but just a leave of absenceThat'll be a celebration of an amazing career. I won't find that sad.
Prob not that soon. He apparantely wants to travel, then coach at a variety different clubs and experiences. No doubt we will get him back a few years later in the coaching dept, so not goodbye but just a leave of absence![]()
I guess that makes sense, he has given so much of his life to football. 5 years isn't that long unless you're my age haha.Prob not that soon. He apparantely wants to travel, then coach at a variety different clubs and experiences.
May come back in 5+ years. Could be longer

By the time he retires and does a bit of travelling, he might just go straight on the pension.Prob not that soon. He apparantely wants to travel, then coach at a variety different clubs and experiences.

Pendles obviously has smarts and not just on the footy field.Haha
Its the best possible thing for him. Get out of the club and given he wants to be a coach, experience different clubs, coaches, experiences to make him a better coach for the future.
He has started this journey since 2022, when he started (and still does in the present) as the midfield coach for Haileybury.
How come no one coaches Preston tech?, what good ever came out of Haileybury.Haha
