He said he was excited about finals didn't he?
From what I read he didn't really commit to Sydney, just a strong finals campaign.
Tom's manager came out & said that the ball is in the Swan's court on whether Tom stays.
It now seems that the Swans have returned serve & put the ball fairly & squarely in Tom's court.
If Tom goes to the Hawks it will be for more or less the same money, but he says he loves the Swans. So he's going to go to a club he loves less than the Swans for similar remuneration? Tom seems to be listening to the wrong people as he seems very unsure on what to do.
He may not have '"really" committed to the Swans but he seems far from committed to going to anyone else, least of all, to a team about to lose some of the best players ever to wear the brown & gold & that are solely responsible for this wonderful patch of success. The Hawks with Tom Mitchell but without the Sam Mitchell, Hodge, Burgoyne, Gibson & Lewis at their best, can end in tears for both parties. Tom is not a number one midfielder. This was proven when JPK missed the Richmond game in Rd 8 & we had the lowest possession count for the year by nearly 100. This is the moment I believe the Swans were prepared to part with him if he asked too much.
Enjoy!
