Wonder how quickly Clarko and the Hawks fans will change their tune on contested footy if this comes off.

I'll go out on a limb and say the statistical indicators we look to will remain the same, and the 'contested footy' stat that we don't give a toss about, we will continue not giving a toss about.

David King will probably tip against us, again, because we lose the contested ball stats.

Because we have a Mitchell midfielder about to retire and are replacing him with a Mitchell midfielder?

Turns out our need to address the Mitchell deficit was even more urgent. Lucky we got this deal done, it has proven difficult for a side to make the grand final without a Mitchell in it. Hasn't been done since 2011. WC and Hawks set up for a 2015 rematch in 2017 :)

I wonder if it was urgent, or if it had been a plan of Clarko's all along.

You will need to allow for the break down in your culture.
Some of your p'ship heroes will not be too happy having to play next to a couple of mercenaries chasing money that have forced your best player & reigning B & F winner out of the club. You need to apply the same blow torch your supporters applied to us when we brought in Buddy & lost Mummy etc & were persistently preached to about it.

For your just desserts, it's not over yet because if you are to land JOM, another player or two are going to have to be coughed up or NO DEAL!

The Hawks dont have mercenaries chasing money just mercenaries chasing success.
That is the major cultural difference between the Swans and the Hawks.

You forgot to put the little wink at the end of the sentence....that was sarcasm, right?

You just picked up two players who came to you for a bigger offer. They didn't take a pay cut to come to the Hawks. What a ridiculous post.

They came in for market value.
Something the Swans didnt used to be constrained by so its not part of their culture but unfortunately is now.

We offered Mitchell market value but he decided to chase better coin. No hard feelings. Good luck to him and the Hawks but don't rabbit on about "cultural differences". It's disingenuous.

You cant afford market value for Mitchell, because you pay Buddy and Tippett over market value and Heeney and Mills and the plumber and Alir Alir will be needing to be paid market value next year.

Why do you think you traded for picks and not players ?
hint.....picks cost base pay, players cost market value

If he went elsewhere (in the market) to be paid more (by the market) then you did offer market value.
This statement is fundamentally wrong.

Market value is what the market is prepared to pay regardless of whether that player moves.

In addition, T. Mitchell's market value may be higher then what the Hawks paid, because he may have been offered more coin by GC for example.

I think that's exactly why we're trading for picks and not players. I agree. We're at our cap and we're looking to develop players rather than trading in. We're not Robinson Crusoe though. You just sounded ridiculous rolling out "cultural differences" like everyone wants to play for unders for the honour of pulling on a Hawthorn guernsey.

Is this a comment on how the Swans coped with Kennedy and Buddy?

Ha ha ha ha!
Your team just gave up the it's best player who won your best & fairest. The barometer of your team.
Tom Mitchell would have benefited from having him there.

Dont they play in the same position ?
Isnt one 23 and the other is 34
2017 will be a good time to see how he goes and if we need to get another mid next year or go for another position

So you've been sitting on this for over a week! Erm, ouch, the blowtorch is hot. It burns my skin.

For our just desserts, everything we go for turns to gold. We even use a trade with you blokes to give s**t to GCS and their idiotic posturing chairman.

Now watch us land O'Meara, Zumbo.

Mitchell will get tagged out of the most of next year. He was our 4th best mid last year. Watch his already poor disposal get worse once he is under the pump week in week out.

When Omeara breaks down AGAIN and you have No Sam Mitchell No Poppy and possibly others gone. Top 8 looks tough next year.

There's that arrogance we've become accustomed to & have missed for a few days!
No Hill!
No Sam Mitchell which you Hawk supporters were counting on being your best player in 2016.
There will be more!

What the swans offer anybody doesn't set the market value, only sets what they would pay, he went out in the market and got more, that's what the market paid for this particular deal, might be more next time and might be less. But it's what you can get that sets the value not what somebody says you can have.
