And yet you spent time completing this post.
And then tried to prove yourself by referring to people who will back you up, and how you've been right in the past. But you don't need to prove anything.

You spend your entire time on these forums trying to be some sort of forum hero, craving credit and kudos by feigning 'inside info' from 'sources'. It's your clear MO, but you don't need to prove yourself :rolleyes::rolleyes:
I'll take this as caring about my posting more than what happens with Mitchell. Ta.

Please note that IF Tom Mitchell leaves the SWans it's because of a Salary Cap squeeze and in that situation NO Hawks player will be part of the deal because any Hawks player that we would find of value will cost as much as Tom Mitchell so derrrrrr, any trade of Mitchell to the Hawks will involve a pick/picks that the Hawks currently do not have.

Plus the first priority for the Hawks is to get O'Meara and I can't see how they even get that deal done.

Mitchell either stays or goes to a club that can offer suitable picks.
I suspect Sydney ultimately will accept any 1st rd pick for Mitchell. They need the cap relief and I imagine will be pretty understanding that he is worth more than what they can offer him. Hard to hold a guy to ransom when you can't pay him market value, they know that. Swans treat their own well, I imagine Mitchell will be no different. While Hawthorn's pick (either this year or next) might not be absolutely ideal, it isn't far from the mark. Close enough for them to pull the trigger I would imagine. Just my opinion

Mitchell will get pick 19 from Hawthorn (which the hawks will get from Freo in their Mayne compensation). That's fair compensation...

Why wouldn't Swans want a similar deal to Treloar? i.e. Hawthorn's 2016 and 2017 first picks for Mitchell and Swan's 2016 2nd rounder? Treloar was better, but the two picks involved were top 10 whereas Hawthorn's is #14 and likely to be similar range (or worse) next year.

Hah one of your best!
14 will be packaged for the Omera deal. I can't see the Hawks being willing to move their 2017 pick as draft picks will be a premium with likely 3 of the plus 30s to retire at seasons end. For what ever reason the Swans have never really rated Mitchell as much as it appears externally. Perhaps that is because he plays in a position with 4 other future Swans Hall of Famers. Also, the swans probably want to get Heeney and Mills more midfield minutes in 2017. Losing Mitchell will only have a minimal impact on you guys.

Sydney cannot offer him what is fair and reasonable and would only disenfranchise him if they kept him against his will. Unless another side trumps the offer of pick 19 AND Mitchell is willing to move there the swans will have to accept 19. Call it the blame Tippett rule...

If hawks took that line would be very reminicent of the ROK situation.

GCS want players not picks so they will have the pick for hill and their first rounder to play with. Both deals will get done quite easily.

Mitchell will end up netting the Swans a late 1st + 2nd or an early to mid 1st. Whether it be our picks, or someone else, there will be 17 other clubs calling Sydney and asking the question.

I rate him much higher. He's worth two pick 15s, or whatever the Hawks pick is. In terms of age and level of output, the most comparable players that have been traded recently are Beams and Treloar.

Having said that, I think they'll clear Sam Reid in order to clear up some more money for Mitchell.

This trade will be the one that's different to every other trade in the last 10 years ? Of course it will.

Well this and the O'Meara trade apparently.

He's not staying at Sydney mate. The only question is who he is going to. and for what compo to Sydney.

Is that from inside info? I was under the impression that the only reason he wants to go is cash. If that is the case, Sydney may decide to find some more for him - eg. let someone else go. Sam Reid is supposedly on pretty big cash and would appear expendable.

Beams was a B&F player and All-Australian. Treloar was an AA talent, unlucky really not to make it this year. Mitchell is a very, very good AFL midfielder, but not many would compare him to those blokes...

Mitchell is an AA talent also. Treloar has a higher ceiling, but I'd take Mitchell over Beams, he just screams long term inside gun to me.
