Been listening to trade radio on my RDO today. I've come around and think he will stay at the swans or end up somewhere not Hawthorn. The swans by most reports are only 50k a season away from what he wanted. But so tight is their salary cap they can't get there. However, after his finals history perhaps they will look to move Gary Rohan? Maybe even Kurt Tippett is anyone would bite on that?
No chance we'd want to get rid of Rohan and very unlikely on Tippett. He played injured at the end of the year but when he's fit he's great for us.

Because those two are key position players of which we don't have great depth. Mitchell is an inside mid of which we have a dozen.
And this is why Sydney supporters aren't too upset, and all other supporters can't understand why Sydney just don't delist/trade other players.

Damn you and your 43252892 quality midfielders! :p

Treloar was a top 30 player at 21 Mitchell could barely get a game at the same age.

They aren't comparable.
They're pretty much the same age and their seasons are pretty much identical. Given my proposal had Mitchell going for two picks in the teens, whereas Treloar went for two picks in the top 10, I'd say that price is pretty fair.

Judd was way ahead off Hodge at that age...
Yep and if I suggested hodge was worth the same as Judd in 2006 what would you say ?

Treloar and Mitchell are the same age and Treloar has been significantly better at every stage of their careers.

No one in their right mind would take Mitchell over Treloar.

You should have told the coaches that before Saturday, then we could have picked a few of these gun inside midfielders and not gotten absolutely shredded in contested possessions.

Lol, you think Mitchell had as good a season as Treloar in 2016 ?

That's insane.

Would love to keep Mitchell but if other clubs are willing to pay him more than we can afford, there's no point breaking the bank for him when we have depth in that position. If he was our main KPD it might be a different story.

Statistically.

If I thought they were exactly the same I wouldn't be suggesting a discount on Treloar's price. But Mitchell is 22, very near guaranteed to be a gun, and what - you're suggesting a price around the same as Redden???

Those guys are clueless at this stage. They're basically just regurgitating the stuff they've read on bigfooty and they're only about 75 pages in to this thread so far
Yes, clearly they haven't reached the post where it says he's visiting the Gold Coast tomorrow to view our state of the art new facilities with the magnesium water swimming pool. :)

I dont remember saying id take Mitchell over Treloar.
Mitchell has played to a better standard then you give him credit for.
If the Treloar trade was 2 top 10s whats Mitchell worth.
He's performed in finals Treloar is unknown

Are you saying he's worth more than Josh Kennedy ?

Pick 40 it is.

What's Hill worth on the Redden scale ?

Huh? If you're saying now, well obviously not (ignoring years to go). If you're talking about when you took Kennedy and he'd only played 10 games and wasn't proven yet, then yeah. Kennedy had nowhere near the same runs on the board when he was traded. He'd played 13 games to Mitchell's 65, including being one of Sydney's better players in a final series.

I don't quite get you. Do you not rate Mitchell despite wanting him to go to your club? He's one of the best young mids in the competition, had a great finals campaign, and is 22. He averages almost 30 disposals a game this year (despite tagging a little) and kicked 15 goals. And I'm suggesting he is worth a latish 1st round pick and a 2nd to 1st round upgrade, and you're baulking?

Gotta love how much the Hawthorn fans are talking down the blokes they are desperate to get. Mitchell is a young gun and will go for a fair bit. JOM, if fit, has the potential to be uber-elite. But due to injury his price is as up in the air as anyone I can think of.
