If he nominates us he comes to us. Its that simple.

If Vickery chooses us we get him.

JOM has chosen us. We get him.

Or you can show all the players who didnt end up where they wanted?
I don't disagree... Pretty sure I said in a later post I agreed? Fact is, Tom Mitchell or Vickery haven't nominated Hawthorn yet.
If there are multiple suitors for Mitchell and he doesn't specifically nominate a team until quite deep into trade week, we may be looking at a long drawn out trade. Similar to the Treloar situation, all the assumption was that he would end up at Collingwood, but he didn't, from what I remember formally nominate them as his club of choice for a while, which led to the trade discussions essentially taking the full two weeks.

McCarthy.. Yet
Mitch brown requested a trade to the saints..denied. Very poor decision by the eagles

Were they out of contract? Was the risk of the trade not happening that they would end up in the pre-season draft?

Do you think GWS will do the same thing again and have a player sit out for the year?

Your first two trades involved five or six clubs, with one of the picks from the first trade required to make the second trade. Again, not simple.
it is simple. i don't know how it could be more simple?
even then the pick is mid 20's that we will be getting for hill......so we fine. as long as they nominate us we will get them

It would be so delicious if Tom Mitchell stayed at the Sydney Swans or went to another club. I'd paid good money to see the priceless expressions on all of the hawk supporters' faces. Sadly, he'll probably end up at Hawthorn, but a man can always dream.
Could happen, heard on the weekend that Chris Judd reported on his radio show ( whatever it is ) that the eagles where interested as well, so until trade week starts and Mitchell nominates a club, we are all guessing.

I don't see why it is so set in stone that Mitchell will nominate the Hawks. Happy to be proven wrong, but you'd think he'd consider a number of teams with the Hawks probably being stuck having to work out an O'Meara deal first. He could probably get better coin elsewhere and not be a part of a sinking ship.

You are more likely to lose McKenzie for very little.

I guess that would be fun. If enjoying others being upset is your thing.

Judd said that the Eagles should be interested in players like Mitchell, not that they are.
Interesting that other clubs interested in Mitchell haven't really been reported. Carlton perhaps, but unclear if that is just fans rather than the club. Not sure they will have the currency to get it done anyhow after their business with GWS.

So he plays WAFL next year and leaves as an FA for a 3rd round?
A good preseason is all he needs to get back into the best 22. With Brown leaving as well as a FA he is a required player. So unless some stupid deal comes to us for him he'll be with us next season and more than likely with his confidence back playing FB in our best 22.

Not even sure why you felt the need to even bring him up. Did some new poster hit a nerve or something?

and not be a part of a sinking ship.
See, this thinking I don't really get!
Maybe players move as they see themselves as being able to invigorate a side which clearly has talent, but is lacking in an area he will fit nicely into
Same with O'Meara

Hawthorn's midfield needs work, and getting both Mitchell and O'Meara will greatly improve that area, solidifying that so called "sinking ship" that you are so desperate to see!

Are there any academy prospects that need points for this year?

Could we turn 14 and say 21 (Mayne compo for Hill) into a top 10 pick from GWS?

Not for Sydney this year. We will need points in 2017 though as we have a few highly rated ones. Would be personally going after 2017 picks if it were me.

GWS have a few prospects this year though. They have 3 in the top 30 minimum

Meh, can't we just wait until Mitchell decides what he wants to do. IF he decides to go to Hawthorn, a fair trade will be worked out, both clubs have good records of being very fair traders.
Genuine question , my mail is he's informed Syd he wants to stay but wants a revised offer , he's also told them if it's not achievable he wants a trade to Hawthorn .
As a Swans fan do you want the club to come to the party even if it may effect other plans this trade period or would you prefer they let him go ?

I would rather they keep him unless a great offer presents itself. Likely that wouldn't come from Hawhorn, if he doesn't want to go to Carlton or GCS (who'd probably offer a great deal) then I hope he stays.
