The funny thing is, swans are only willing to pay Mitch $380k, but their fans are asking for a top 10 pick.....
If he was worth that then surely you could find more money to keep him.....
We probably shouldn't use a rumoured salary from a non-Swans insider journo as a fact.

The guys who usually have the inside word from the club (e.g. Adam Curley, Andrew Wu, etc) don't back up that claim.

Hawks under Graham Wright never announce they are looking at a player unless a deal has already been struck. JOM is done a price has been paid. As for Mitchell, his value is still fluctuating he could be a Norm Smith winning premier in a months time and this alters his value. My early guess that could appease both parties would be Hawks first round and a combination of later swaps that give swans the picks to trade for a high pick they want. Don't think Mitchell would be on more than 600k, not for 2 years anyhow.

It will be next years, and you will need them for your academy player.
Given the AFL's propensity to change the rules from year to year we'd be hesitant to rely on academy picks in advance.

We don't have any Heeney/Mills style players next year (we've had 2 in the past decade..). One guy who may find his way to the late first round range, but we'll have a pick to cover that anyway.

According to this jibberish article, Tom Mitchell is exactly who the Kangaroos should be chasing this year. Not sure how Roos fans feel about that?
Tom Mitchell is exactly what north don't need another slow inside extractor to pair with cunnington , swallow , ziebell and Dumont . Do people on here even watch footy

Yep, seemed an odd connection to me. For Sydney the same author suggests the key man we should target is Matt de Boer...
