Hartlett to Gold Coast is what gets JOM to us mate
We have a couple of KPP from SA to dangle in front of Port ;)
It'll be interesting to see what the Hawks give up, given they are in the hunt for JOM and Mitchell. Surely they would want to hold on to their first draft pick since there is a need for quality youth to come through.

I can't see us keeping this years and next years first picks
But I can definitely see a 3 club swap that would send JOM to us
Mitchell for our first pick (14 I think) this year

Of course they want to keep their early picks but don't Mitchell and O'Meara fit the bill of quality youth?

The only players Hawthorn have with high trade value are 27/28 and under, so not who they would want to be trading out.

There's a big question mark over O'Meara's fitness. It's a risky proposition at best.

This years first for Mitchell & next years first + Shiels for O'Meara.

We've gotten games into Sicily, Brand, Howe, O'Brien & Hartung this year: They'll be regulars next year, along with a certain number 2.

Burton, Lovell, Stewart & Hardwick have shown enough in the seconds to suggest they push-up for regular senior footy in 2017.

Willsmore, Heatherley, Pittonet, Miles, Surman & Glass are still works in progress.

An early 2nd rounder is the best we can probably hope for.

I'd be looking to trade out/de-list Duryea, Hill, O'Rourke, Birchall, Litherland, Schoenmakers, Shiels, Spangher, Puopolo & Langford. And get some good kids in the draft instead.

I Cant see Puopolo or Birchall going anywhere, perhaps shiels as part of a trade though,

Birchall's time has passed. Hate to say it, but he's a soft-****.....Howe & Willsmore can do his role.... Puopolo, only if the right offer is forthcoming.

We need to cut hard & deep quickly, before the 6-7 blokes who've kept us up all this time, are gone.

I have to agree, Birchall has become a spectator and is easily replaced.

Not a chance Shiels gets traded, and you know it!
Birchall, yep
Remember what Clarko did when he first arrived?.....Well, he needs to do exactly the same thing again now!

I'd be going the chop big-time....Needs to be bold for the coming decade, not conservative....I hope he recognizes this immediately.

You think a bloke that can't even crack an AFL game (Willsmore) can come in and replace a 4x premiership player and elite half-back flanker of the last 5+ years? Just an idiotic comment. I highly doubt Shiels will be traded either. Highly rated internally and one of few that can win a contested ball and isn't getting closer to going over the edge of a cliff.

Breust is a NSW boy, would fit into their side and release others to go into the midfield. Would think Sydney would need someone of this quality before they'd even consider trading with the Hawks. So could definitely see it happening.

Mitchell is absolute elite at his position at the age of 23. If he went through the draft he'd go at 1/2 this year. If they're multiple suiters, he could get 2xlate first rounders, so Hawthorn's 2016 & 2017 first round picks. JOM is worth significantly less imo. Mitchell really isn't as slow as others described and skills are decent.

In terms of young midfielder ranking purely from an inside/clearance perspective I'd have Mitchell 3rd
1. Cripps
2. Bontempelli
3. Mitchell
