You are assuming JOM gets on the park right? Mitchell right now is probably worth more to your side, JOM hasn't played in 2 years!
Well I'm not suggesting that Jaegers bench warming capabilities are more valuable than what Mitchell brings on field

It's just that when he was healthy in 2013 he was nearly every bit as handy as Ablett...

There is a heck of a lot of dartboard shot making with JOM though. I know how good he was, it's been 3 years though!

Hill trade would provide them with another early selection.

Hawthorn took 2 first rounders last year, so they have future firsts to trade as well.
I don't know if Hill would net them a first rounder. Considering freo have pick 3 which Brad Hill wouldn't even go close to being worth. IMHO he's worth about what Yarran was. So 19 ish.

Also, GC have said they want players, not picks. And as good as Bruest is, it would probably take him and their first to get JOM.

What are you guys thinking for Mitchell?

Combination of Pick 14, Pick 32, 2017 1st round pick, B.Hill compensation, Sciliy/Hartung.
Would likely be Sicily and 14. Can't see them wanting Hartung.

Probably get JOM and pick 26 (or around that mark, I think they have a few mid 20s) back.

What do the Swans want for Mitchell?

Must have missed something, where are the Hawthorn rumours coming from, people talk about like it is a dead set certainty. Surprised other clubs like Fremantle in particular and Carlton haven't been mentioned here as genuine suitors as there are genuine links to both of them.

Dockers have holes in their big man Department, but another genuine midfielder and their engine room is nearly done. Would have plenty of cap space unless they think they can land Hogan. Not sure how they get it done with the currency they have, but what they have is no worse than what Hawthorn would be willing to give up. 2017 First round?
The blues chased him hard before, but does he fit their rebuild profile? Outside of Touhy, Graham, Kreuzer and possibly taking on some salary cap, they only have draft picks.

We're interested in Mitchell. We've pretty much accepted we won't be giving up pick 5 for JOM and that essentially rules us out.

Similar with Mitchell, if we want to get the deals dome for Marchbank and his buddies, we probably won't have the currency to get him. We're keen on him, but we will have to see how the draft period plays out as to if we have anything Sydney want.

Suppose it's just because they're a successful club and they may make the room - so why turn them down?

People on GC board are having a bit of fun suggesting we may make a play but find it hard to imagine eventuating

One thing is for sure - we have cash to splash and need capable mids in their early to mid 20s

Bruest and a first....geeez why not just give them another first while we are at it.....because a player who you know what you will get 40-50 goals isn't worth a player who hasn't played afl in 2 and 1/2 years. hawks aren't that stupid.

If the Hawks had a choice of EITHER Mitchell or JoM, who would you take?
T-Mitch. Atleast you know 100% what you are getting and can be pretty confident of being an immediate impact player for us.
