Well wouldn't that get the Hawks knickers in a twist if we did tempt TMitchell & BMitchell with respective big $$$ deals to relocate further north instead of heading south.

TMitchell would be the perfect Prestia replacement.

It is unlikely as I'm sure the Hawks have done all the necessary ground work over the last 12-months but Tom would be worth testing with a long-term big $$$ offer. You just never know.

If the Swannies make the GF it would not surprise me that Mitchell will not leave.

If you look at the Swans young talent and compare it to the Hawks young talent, then the there is a yawning chasm. The Swans are way, way in front.

If Mitchell really wants to play finals and Grand Finals then from here on in the Swans are a much more sure bet than the Hawks.

The lure of the cup is a powerful one, but from here on in it is not a carrot that the Hawks can dangle.

Yeah, players are queuing up to join the Suns.
Well sitting around saying woe is us isn't going to get us anywhere, I hope our club are making serious offers at some big names players. Probably a 1% chance Mitchell will come to us, but I don't want us just giving up, I hope we put a big deal in front of him, would be the perfect replacement for Prestia.

Suppose it's just because they're a successful club and they may make the room - so why turn them down?

People on GC board are having a bit of fun suggesting we may make a play but find it hard to imagine eventuating

One thing is for sure - we have cash to splash and need capable mids in their early to mid 20s
One of your picks in the top 25 for Masten?

Because getting the best player in the competition has been a recipe for success so far.

Maybe the Suns should try developing and retaining players.
Retention rate actually not that bad, all the guys that have wanted to leave are ones that have bad recurring injury issues so not the end of the world in my view, still have talents with plenty of upside like Kolodjashnij, Miller, Wright coming through

Do keep trying to stick the boot in though

I worry for you if you think Tom Mitchell is the best player in the league.

We have plenty of picks we will use this year to develop up and coming players, but we need experienced quality players around them, otherwise they will just get broken down like our 2010 crop of players.

Gary Ablett didn't suffice but Tom Mitchell will.

Sorry, my mistake. I confused the Suns with the other expansion side that came in a year after, didn't build a list around poaching 'big names' and aren't a basket case. Happens all the time. Again, my apologies.
That's ok my friend, we have both won the same amount of premierships since we have been in existence, keep on truckin' :)

I don't see how the Hawks can afford both Mitchell & O'Meara.
afford: Money wise, probably back ended deals.
Trade wise: Hill Out (apparently 400k), i think hawks are worried bruest may go for money, litherland and sicily is enough
also big boy's future is in the air as he is apparently considering retirement. been thrown around quite a bit

The Hawks getting both JOM & Mitchell would keep them from going too low down the ladder but they won't get them into P'ship contention.
very true. but its a good start. T-Mitch, O'Meara (If he can get fit) and shiels is a good starting point for the midfield
