There is no way in the world that he stays at Sydney. If your work offered you less money for next year would you stay? He's gone and has been gone all year.

Swans actually need him to go. It's hard enough for your salary cap with Franklin and Tippett. Cola is gone next year and there has been several young players like Papley who have been extended at higher cost than expected. Heeney and Kennedy out of contract next year - you need the money for them.

Mitchell is of huge worth to many clubs. It just so happens that he's not particularly important at the Swans. We all think because he's a great player he must be worth a good pick. Fact is, Swans need him gone and are desperate to do so. They will take a fair deal, whether that be from Hawthorn or any other suitor.

Pick 6 is not a fair precedent if set by Richmond. They don't know any better.
"Swans are desperate to get rid of Tom Mitchell" what do you know lol

because its panic mode. buckley knows he needs to make finals and trying to get some experience in at the expense of younger players. noob move
If Buckley had control over the recruits, I'd agree. Wells is a jet and not a panic buy, he's probably the best FA on the market this year. Fills a massive need.

I love this sentence! the assumptions made by all & sundry about the Swans is mind boggling!

Tippett's "lucrative contract", 4 years, ends this year. Yes he had a clause triggered where it was extended until 2018, but that was more about years & not so much about dollars. So all the young players we want have been signed until 2018. Tippett will be 31. If good enough to play in our senior team, using your style of assumptions, I can assume you he won't be on more than 350-400K!
Oh Lord!
Is that a salary cap saving I see there old chap?
Come on man1 You're more intelligent than that. We've been the best at list management, rebuilding & playing finals for nearly 20 years now & yet you still want to discredit it all by mentioning the Cola! That's all fine, but it goes deeper than that!
But just for all the LOLs, you & your mates keep thinking otherwise!;) Know wo I mean?

Here!
Read some facts about Tippo.

No mention of dollar figures for his next two years in that article.
Can you see any mention? I can't!
Take another look just in case!
Nah!
Still can't see any mention.

Here's another assumption! Tippo could be on 500K for each these next two years.

Oh the irony that you also have made an assumption. But really, can you imagine Tippett's manager in negotiations putting in a clause for two extra years on less money.

He would have asked for 6 years and been knocked back to 4. Jump through the hoops and he gets 6 years. If its half the salary what's the point of the trigger clause. Might as well re negotiate.

Jeez, someone is going to get a bargain if this board is anything to go by. I must rate Mitchell much higher than most. I would have thought he'd be worth a similar value to Treloar and Beams. Similar age and similar level of output. I reckon he's worth a top 10 pick plus a second rounder

Beams went for Pick 5 + 25 + Steak knives(handy ones too - Crisp). A top 10 pick plus a bit more than a second rounder
Treloar went for Pick 7 + Future 1st (which was expected to be about 10-12) minus a second rounder. I equate this as a top 10 pick plus a second rounder.

those two are more damaging players. Mitchell is a gun but he plays is the swans 4th string mid while Trelor was GWS best or second best mid and beams was pies third best mid. Would love mitchell and i rekon he would improve our midfield but i don't he worths as much as the blokes mentioned above. I actually wouldn't mind offloading eric mackenzie along with a pick for him and get a late pick back.
