Yeah, there wasn't going to be a change until Goodes wanted to play reserves. Mitchell will get his time, be patient.
 
I follow the Swan's pretty closely so look at this board quite a bit.

Can someone tell me, is LukeParkerno1 a troll? If so, why hasn't he been banned yet? Talks some incredible dribble and frequently contradicts himself, mostly about Tom Mitchell.

Why becuase I don't see him as the next Ablett. My point has been the same all along, he needs to show form. Poor pre season, and Heeney has jumped ahead (rightly so). There isn't a position for him right now and we aren't changing our whole game plan to fit one player in, regardless of whonthat player is.
 
Can't believe how much people knock Mitch on his kicking. It's not the best in the comp but it's not a liability either.

Ryan O'Keefe and Jude Bolton we're not great kicks and relied on a lot of bomb and hope. 600+ games between them.

At this point Mitchell has only played 20 games and is just 21.
Despite this he has had some great games already.

Just watching Ess/Carl atm - the captains for both sides we're criticized for poor disposal in their early years. Both are also bronwlow medalists. (EDIT - forgot Murphy is actually the Bloos cap'n not Judd)

I am not suggesting by saying this that poor disposal is not acceptable, but i do no accept that Mitch's kicking is poor - only ordinary.
He more than makes up for that with very good decision making, quick thinking, and an absolute drive to have an impact.

Won the clearances by 10 but it certainly didn't seem like it. I'm sorry, but Tom Mitchell is needed here!

While him and Cunningham are playing in this side and Pyke is your ruckman you cannot win a premiership. I have been in the camp to say Mitchell earns his spot but I would rather him in now winning clearances after watching tonight slow and all as he is over Cunningham playing the outside speedy squib. Some of his efforts to tackle and his give it to me boundary riding was sickening. Longmire has gone overboard with the speed factor imo and you are already carrying a low possession winner in Rohan who murders the footy a lot more than disposing of it effectively. Mitchell in for mine now but you probably are not going to see it at Subiaco next week where Longmire will go for out and out speed.

I dont even care if its mitchell

Reid whilst showing glimpses down back compared to forward does not deserve a spot just for being tall

I thought cunningham was ok. Took a lot of marks

Woah, hold up on the Rohan bashing! He brings defensive pressure, a great deal of it as a matter of fact! I can see the ranga making serious inroads this year and as a matter of fact, I'd rather see him forward as the 'target'...yes, I said target! Let's face it, before that dirty little **** from North took him out, he was a lead up forward and was looking pretty damn good! Franklin's gonna get the ball no matter what and when he's roaming, six blokes can't hang off him. Tippett is a giant, he'll be a great foil and Reid...well let's be honest, he's a forward and that's the only position he can play...just needs confidence. Back to Cunningham...nup!

Was close to BOG the first 2 games, he can have an off game, and he wasn't that bad anyway. Like a few of our players, was probably coasting just doing enough, bank the 4 points get ready for Fremantle.

We are not dropping Cunningham for Mitchell.

This game won't be played out in the open spaces of Subiaco, this game will be tight! If we continue to leak in the middle, it won't matter how much run we have therefore the idea is to get first hands on the ball. The game is not going to be played how you want or expect it to be played...mark my words! And I'm happy to take a hit if I'm wrong! But would you be happy to take a hit if Cunningham the dud lost his spot to a far better player in Mitchell? I suspect not!

Oh please for the last time we need Cunningham to play on Hill or Pearce. You leave those two alone they will kill us period. Mitchell was hardly fantastic in the reserves, made a few glaring errors unfortunately. We have enough players in tight with JPK, Bird, Parker, Jack, Hanners (both inside and outside). You are wanting Mitchell just for the sake of it. Won't happen.

Cunningham is a dud, no way will he compete with Hill. What's wrong with Jetta or Jack or McGlynn? What's wrong with hurting them in the middle? I'm wanting Mitchell to win the ball, not chase some dudes arse like Cunningham will.

Cunningham stopped Hill both games last year- he will always be picked for this match. McGlynn can't go with Hill period. Jack is playing well this year lets not move him.

Both will play, ideally it would be only one of them. Even so I won't be changing our inside miss when we are 3-0 this year. Happy with Cunningham or Bird, maybe both doing a tag job.
 
Those calling Cunningham a dud have NFI. They're as bad as these headline reaching media figures.

He had a poor 1st game after a great 2014 season. He adds great run and played some key roles last season... including shutting down Hill twice.

I don't hate Mitchell, in fact I rate him. What I don't like is the 'he has to play, chuck everyone else out'. You earn a spot, it is really that simple. Mitchell had a relatively poor pre season. Now you can blame it on a new role, etc. He didn't have a great pre season. He battled on Saturday. Wasn't awful, but he wasn't the best player on the field either. Plus we are playing a Subiaco, and we have 4 inside mids in our side.
