I wouldn't tag Scully unless he had it on a string. Just doesn't hurt teams enough with his poor disposal by foot. His goal kicking is pretty crap.

It'll come. The poor kid is building hype as fast as Nicnat and is already drawing tags. He is rushing his kicks. He just needs to take a breath and not try to do to much to quickly. He has the ability, he just needs those 40-50 games under his belt to be fully across the tempo of the game.

It was interesting Watts talk about the massive differance in speed of the game from AFL to VFL level. He said that he was shot by quarter time!

Scullys issue with his kicking isn't a technical one (He hits the ball pretty well as a rule) it is he just kicks without looking sometimes.

He'll be right, he is still getting used to the pace of the game.

Scully is a pretty good kick of the footy, it's just sometimes he lacks a bit of composure and just jams it on the boot which, in fairness, was necessary at times during yesterday's handball fest.

As others have said, I believe that his composure will improve as he adjusts to AFL level and its associated requirements.

Yup, he'll be really good come seasons end and beyond. The most incredible game I've seen was that Port v Carlton game in 2008. Murphy, Gibbs and Kreuzer, their three number one picks were incredible that game, along with Judd, and all in tandem.

Scully needs to hit the leg presses and get a few more metres into his kicks though. At the moment they go too far up and not far enough forward.

Great duel with Hill today. Scully certain showed every bit of his running power, is just a tireless worker. Was almost one out in the midfield in the first half, then in the second the others lifted which was very good without Moloney (and Trenners not playing).

He is going to come so good. Earlier in the season we were criticizing his disposal under pressure but its come on in leaps and bounds. Looks like he can tag and play with a tag too.

I love it when he gets the ball in the corridor... you just know he's going to put the skates on and deliver a neat kick to advantage. His kicking is not Goddard-like, and probs never will be, but it's pretty underrated.

I've said it before but he's sort of like a smaller, left-footed version of a young Judd the way he moves.

So un-Melbourne like to have a player of his quality on the list!

what is wrong with you? Just because you have your club listed as melbourne doesnt make you a melbourne supporter, you were just getting good... God dang....

Easy, have to say I agree with BS here, IMO Hill is going to be an out-and-out superstar... could easily be as good as Scully, who will also be a superstar, clearly.

I would love Hill at Melbourne but Scully is a more complete player.
