For all you know they may have tried to convince him to plead guilty. I don't see the point of trying to read their minds and blame/not blame them, it makes no difference anyway. Ultimately you have no clue what they were thinking or did.Sure, if I believed that they had no idea and truly believed him I would be sympathetic. I follow alot of cases and am often sympathetic to the offender's family.
In this case I just don't believe that they haven't acted to protect their own interests. It's my opinion.

Depending on the sentence, but I’d be shocked if he didn’t.Will he appeal?

Hard to show remorse when you appealDepending on the sentence, but I’d be shocked if he didn’t.
Unfortunately his lawyers have botched his defence offering nothing of an explanation.
It'll probably be closer to half that.Oh yeah? I have absolutely no clue but assumed he'd go away for at least 10 years.
Hard to show remorse when you appeal
I am sure any sausage Tom gets will be consensual. The overwhelming majority of sex in prison is consensual. Very little rape, at least in SA prisons. And when there is, it’s most often reported and prosecuted. But the number of condoms that are used in prisons would astound you.
The fact that he indisputably tried to doctor an uber receipt is pretty compelling evidence.I'm not going in to bat for him, but it appears Tom is somewhat unlucky to have been convicted. It's not a common outcome in Australia. Any men's advocates here able to explain what happened?
I hope Tom gets everything he deserves. If he thinks it is fine to digitally rape a women then I hope he is looking forward to the same treatment from hus cell mate for the next couple of years .....
They're doing great work highlighting the imbalances in Victoria's disgraceful legal systemIf it wasn't for those damn feminists none of this would have happened in the first place. Poor Tom and his family have had their names dragged thru the mud because of this sort of thing. Feminists are tearing society and families apart!
When will it end?

No he'll be sentenced at the sentencing hearingWhat time is his pre-sentencing hearing today?
Would he be sentenced today?
As a parent, I often wonder how I would react in situations like this.
To be honest, I have enormous empathy for the Silvagni family. It must be absolutely awful for them. I can only assume they would devastated that their son did something like that, but at the same time devastated that their son is going to go to jail for the prime decade of his life.
I can't even comprehend what they'd be going through.
I really hope you're serious with this comment. They're doing great work highlighting the imbalances in Victoria's disgraceful legal system![]()
Hopefully they don't have much to consider & it happens asap.No he'll be sentenced at the sentencing hearing
Errr YESI really hope you're serious with this comment.
Ok. I apologise.Errr YES
What sort of person would think any of this is OK? Spending millions to gaslight a victim, long suppression orders to protect the career of the accused's mother, fabricating evidence, getting others to lie etc etc
Two years of this
Rich, spoilt, entitled filth
Hope he gets ten years, deserves it, in fact he deserves double that
Exactly. It’s hard to be found innocent when you’ve botched an uber receipt. So it makes just about zero sense about how they’ve gone about this.Hard to show remorse when you appeal
Depending on the sentence, but I’d be shocked if he didn’t.

Yes. Because Young Tom was being accused of rape and freaked out.Has his lawyer offered an explanation why an innocent man would produce a fake uber receipt to make an excuse for something that never apparently took place?
