It’s used in in conjunction with Behavioural Interviewing, Scientific Content Analysis (SCAN) of the written word and later, Interrogative interviewing, to identify
- a potential liar,
- target the time,place or circumstance of the event and possible anomalies &
- to re-enforce commitment to an interrogation of the events.
None of these skills are foolproof, but they are valuable assets.
