Some of you need to chill out, be better than geelong supporters.

We dont need to wish injuries on anyone or hope someone evens it up.

Just be content in the fact we win when it really matters.

Also the thread is about Stewart and Prestia

I think its clear to all and sundry that the only fitting punishment is that Tom Stewart never be allowed within 100m of the MCG for the rest of his life and also have to donate $1000 to charity every time he touches a football

Biggest dog act since?...
It's been a while for one this bad.
And a targeted hit on our most valuable player in the first quarter that they also scored a goal from.
Goes past the ball, targets the head.

intentional, high, severe.
Cya Tom ya dog campaigner.
While Prestia has eyes only for the ball and is completely open.

I don't know what he could have done to make it worse. If he doesn't get a looooooong holiday the AFL can never again talk about player welfare with a straight face.

Bachar Houli got 4 for throwing an arm back not knowing who was there and he’s a poster boy for fair play and good bloke. But still knocked a bloke out. If thats the standard then Stewart needs to get 6 weeks for running past the ball, jumping into a defenseless player with his arm / shoulder. He was looking at the bloke - gutless and needs to pay a heavy price.

I’m just pissed there’s no send off rule. Let’s be honest here - this act has cost us a win, cost us top four most likely, and without our best midfielder this bloke can strut around for the rest of the match to win the game for them. And spare me contrition - do that from the stands!

Forget the weeks in my mind - he should be benched immediately and we play against 17.

We get doubly punished. Lose the points and Dion will miss a few. That’s a serious hit.

AFL - it’s time to admit that the world game (and pretty well every other contact sport in the world) has this sorted with proper justice.

not sure if this has been mentioned but this moment ended up in a goal to Geelong if I'm correct (could be wrong though) so effectively if the umps stopped the game like usually happens for concussion then we grab the points as well.
Well, actually Graham got a free but we turned it over and then they got a goal. So sort of, they goaled while we had 17 active players on the ground.

Umps should have used a “common sense” approach like they tell us they like to do and our trainers also should have called for play to be stopped.
It was clear as day from the get go he’d take no further part in the game.

A remorseful Tom Stewart admitted post-game to Cats coach Chris Scott he made a “horrible error” when he ran past the ball and bumped Richmond’s Dion Prestia in the head, concussing the midfielder and sidelining him for the match midway through the first quarter.
Scott said the All-Australian defender was clearly upset by the incident but made no excuses for the action that will see him suspended once the match review officer assesses the vision.

Geelong's Tom Stewart reported for ugly hit

Geelong's Tom Stewart has been reported for rough conduct after an ugly hit on Dion Prestia
Scott agreed the defender, who was Geelong’s best player in the three-point win over Richmond, would “pay a price” but described him as a “scrupulously fair player” who executed the bump poorly on this occasion.
“When I spoke to him post-game, he said ‘I’ve just made a horrible error and I feel terrible about it,’” Scott said.

“He said, ‘I ran past the ball and I chose to bump. I did not mean to do it, but gee it was terrible execution, and I am going to pay the price for it.’”
Scott told Stewart at quarter-time to focus on the remainder of the game and deal with the ramifications in the week ahead. He managed to do that, winning 29 disposals and taking an important intercept mark late in the game as the Cats tried to protect their lead in a frantic finish.
Richmond coach Damien Hardwick refused to elaborate on the incident, saying it was not his place to comment. He said Prestia was “up and about” in the rooms but the doctors would monitor him to determine the impact.
The 29-year-old is certain to miss next week’s clash against West Coast as he enters the 12-day concussion protocols.

Scott said Stewart was prepared to cop whatever penalty was appropriate but said his defender’s response showed his character.
“He knows he has done the wrong thing. Was it deliberate? Of course it wasn’t. He has made an error and people [who] do that I admire. He is prepared to stand up and say ‘I was wrong,’” Scott said.

Match report

Geelong lift off the canvas to beat Tigers in thriller

“He should have some comfort in the fact that that is not him and it was an error of execution and that was all. He is a pretty emotional guy, he was feeling it ... and it weighs heavily on him. He will pay a price, there is no doubt about that.”
Stewart, reported on the spot for rough conduct, could face as long as four weeks on the sidelines depending on whether the impact is graded as severe, which would trigger a tribunal hearing.

Stewart’s shoulder collected Prestia in the head as the triple premiership Tiger tried to tap the ball to a teammate. Prestia, who was best on ground against Carlton last week, was motionless for several minutes before being subbed out of the game at quarter-time and replaced by Ivan Soldo.
The impact is certain to be rated, at the least, as high, and will possibly be considered intentional rather than careless as Stewart ran past the ball and elected to bump.
Stewart’s absence would be significant as Geelong struggled at the end of last season when he was sidelined with a foot injury. The Cats also sorely missed the All-Australian when he was concussed early in the round 12 match against the Western Bulldogs.
Richmond defender Robbie Tarrant also underwent a concussion test early in Saturday’s game after courageously running with the flight of the ball to spoil Geelong forward Jack Henry deep in the Cats’ forward 50.
Geelong’s Tom Stewart will come under MRO scrutiny after collecting [PLAYERCARD]Dion Prestia[/PLAYERCARD].

Get ****ed Chris Scott!

Chris Scott paraphrasing Stewart with an immediate contradiction.

He said, ‘I ran past the ball and I chose to bump. I did not mean to do it….

I chose to, I did not mean to - which one is it ya knobs?

Anything less than 6w for this gutless thuggery and I’ll spit at the feet of the AFL , Stewart focussed on Prestia lined him up and hit him flush in the head with his shoulder , what you’d call a campaigners act and it cost us the game taking our best midfielder out of the contest we lost by 3p

This sounds like total BS lol. Who would talk to their coach like that IRL.

****ing hate Geelong. Cheat pricks with all the AFL advantages they get they still have to take our players out in big games.

AFL better not squib this. Anything less than 6 weeks is a disgrace
