Tom Swift

Haven't seen Shuey play. Am still so, SO excited based on what I have heard.

Until today I've been unsure on Swift. Seemed overawed vs Freo, perhaps due to the crowd pressure or the derby buildup. But being at the game today, he seemed to be everywhere, and had a real confidence about him. I dont recall Masten or Ebert standing out like that so early in their careers, though over the last 6 weeks both have come along very well.

Very good game, I was pleasantly surprised.

Liked his last couple of games... scratched any doubts he is capable of having a crack at this level... grat couple of goals v Essendon... and some improved hard ball contested possies this time around

Can't believe how harsh the commentators were on Swift,

Good call. It's just that touch of fear/knowingness they have of WC forming another powerhouse team. It was funny when Swift spun away from 4 bulldogs and they used it as an example of them not switched on lol.

But TBH, i find Healy and Shaw quite fair in their commentating of WC games (although sometimes lacking knowledge). They may hate the club but respect it just as much. Once the Bulldogs clicked into gear and we still beat them, they stopped downplaying the performance and gave us plenty of credit.

Besides, who are we to complain about commentators when the best we can throw up (modern era) is Jako LOL who comments every game as if WA teams are playing some faceless robots.

Shown enough to suggest that he has potentially the highest ceiling of any of our mids drafted in the last couple of years.

If Schuey is as good as they say he is though......that could be scary.

Healy I rate very highly, always fair and unbias in his comments. And always puts down people who want to try and be inflammatory, I remember him and another bloke talking about Naita and the other bloke started on the "It was mostly just luck" path and then Healy stopped him right there and said mate you are not going to play down this.

Shaw can get a bit up in the air with his comments but its not something he says to be on the back page, if he genuinely believes you are crap he will tell you untill you do something positive enough to change his mind. He plays the wicket on its merits (without looking too far into the future/past).

I half agreed with them, if the Bullies were switched on Swift wouldnt of gotten through.

If the Bulldogs where switched on Judd would have never been allowed to bounce through that pack and do a 360. If Essendon where switched on Swift would have not bounced off Watson like a pinball. It's a common trend if you ask me.
