CARLTON Football Club can confirm Tomas Bugg has made the decision to retire from AFL football.

Bugg informed his teammates today that he has had growing interests outside the game that have become more of a priority than his desire to play AFL football.
The 25-year-old said the decision to walk away from the game was difficult given the support he had received since joining the Club.

And in further bad news for the Club, star on-baller and Co-Captain Patrick Cripps has informed the club of his intention to take a break from AFL next season to concentrate on his first love, raising Lithuanian Mountain Goats.

FMD!

Opens up another list spot under the new rules.

Thank god for the new rules I say.

Surely Mick Gibbons becomes official now? 2 more spots left to replace Doc and Bugg.

Bugg seemed to be going well in training and I was looking forward to his aggression. His whole post season plea for someone to give him another shot rings a little hollow. I mean ... opportunity elsewhere is fine and all but you either have the passion to play AFL or you don't.
