Bev did state in the pre season that he did Boyd no favors last year in terms of development by playing him in the 2's. Definitely feel he can come straight back in at the expense of Roberts as previously stated in this thread. With Roughie to chop out down back.
We are already playing the tallest side we have under Bev. Are you trying to tell me that we could go...even...TALLER?!

I can only get so erect. We are starting to look like North Melbourne except our players are half their age and we actually play exciting football. And our coach isn't a tantrum thrower.

I rarely go onto the main board but when I did I saw a thread about Tom and couldn't help but have a look. Amongst most of the nonsense someone posted his original draft preview from Knightmare. I found it really interesting reading.

A few things that stood out were that in the preview it says he rarely spills a mark when he gets his hands on it, times the ball well and never gets caught under it and is quite mobile. Gotta say, those are three things I haven't seen from Tom yet. But... After reading it I have even more confidence that he will work out and those type of things will come when he is older.

Interestingly it says there is no need for him to bulk up as he is already huge. We all know how that went after his time at GWS!

Personally I think we miss him for a target on the wing and at half forward.

Even when he didn't mark it he presented, the ball at least hit his hands and then we had a chance of halving the contest or crumbing it and getting it going forward again.

Right now we're just getting out marked or not seeing a tall to kick to and blazing away. He was a good get out of jail card.

Agree with you and it also forces the opposition to find a match up for him.

I would almost play him in the seniors straight up.

Yeah, it is a long trip from the east. I try to justify it to myself by saying that I'm already going to docklands, and therefore the added travel to footscray doesn't take as much time as going from the eastern suburbs to footscray. It does take up your whole sunday though, which can be pretty difficult.

That's actually one of those soft mini footys ^

:D Love you Boydy, can't wait to have him back in the team in the next few weeks. Nobody on the team makes me as happy when they clunk a few and kick a couple early goals in a game. He is a huge key to if we will win a premiership or not.

Craig Hutchison "thinks" Toyd's on $1.75m-$2m this year.
This is exactly what we want to hear. By the end of next year he should be on around the $700K-750K a year mark, which will be an average salary for a gun key forward by that stage.

Just as Fyfe comes out of contract
