okay, I liked the All Star game and I know it is supposed to be a fun thing... but the blatant extra steps taken by players is just wrong. There is no way they could get away with it in college games.

I get annoyed when I see players like Shaq take 4 steps before shooting - its cheating. Lots of other players do this and they keep on doing this because the NBA allows this, not every time, but when an exciting play is supposed to happen - some kind of "entertainment" rule which the NBA has allowed.

It would be more fair if the NBA cracked down on the travelling issue. I know the Dallas GM wants them too, and I agree with him.

All those travels are let go because it is All Star Weekend. Wouldnt get away with any of that in a regular NBA game. Sometimes the rumored "Entertainment Rule" comes in. Say New Jersey is blowing out a cellar dwellar and Kidd makes a crazy pass to K-Mart on the break and he kind of shuffles his feet but hammers home a crazy dunk. That would get let go.

Let's remember...first and foremost, the NBA is entertainment.

No, first and foremost, the NBA is basketball, which has specific rules. The one thing that gives me the ****s about the NBA is the lack of use of the travel rule. It is not only on all star weekend. Players change pivot foot constantly (which gives a huge first step), and always get an extra step to dunk. I know it's not a "cool" opinion but all of this stuff is against the rules.

The players need to be able to entertain within the rules (if this isn't enough - change the rules).

Yes the NBA is basketball...but me and my mates are playing tomorrow night down at Perry Lakes stadium. Nobody will turn up to the game apart from the guys who will play in the game. That's basketball. On average 20,000 people turn up to watch an NBA game. It's entertainment in the form of basketball.

On the rules...I love the NBA travelling rules. I get called for travels so many times in games I play here because I use the jump stop all the time which is allowed in the NBA, but no ref's know the rule over here. I rarely see guy's change their pivot foot though...that's a fairly obvious indiscretion and would be called no question.

A vast amount of travels are usually called on big guys shuffling their feet in the post or in the lane.
