Up until a couple of weeks ago SportsBet had a bet going for us not to win a game this season titled "Toothless Tigers".

This week we start as favourites at $1.82 to beat West Coast, who are paying $2.

I know it might not seem like much but its an indication that over the past 11 weeks Damien Hardwick has taken us from looking like an end of days Fitzroy like team to a team with some hope in the future on the back of some genuinely exciting players like Dusty, JR8 and Cotchin.

Go Damo and Go Tigers!

I can't believe we are favourites. Eagles pushed Geelong right until the final siren and they have us faves?????

They seem to be able to stop/confuse Geelong some how when they play over here. I'm certain the same happened last year, and the fact the Cats don't play Subi that well either. So I wouldn't be reading too much into that game, but I think the real reason we would be faves is WC has a terrible record away from Subi over the last few years.

Close...

Connors in-Farmer out
Foley in-White out
POLAK in-Simmonds out
Griffiths in-Morton out
JACKSON in-Nahas out

MOORE must also be considered for immediate re-call. Tough call on what to do there. For MCGuane? or Collins? Nason ? but they are not really like for like. Tough week at the selection table.

And so we should be favs! Go Tiges!

And may Cuz rip em a new one.

Not sure who deserves to be dropped for

Gotta give Morton another run, Dimma has never put a player up for just one match, you can't see all they have to offer in one match, I get the feeling Morton could kick 2-3 if he played.

Taylor definitely needs to come in, Jackson, Foley, Griffiths & Connors all the other big ins.

Who to take out? Simmonds, White, Farmer...I just can't take Nahas out, because he is a good player, needs a few more games before he is dropped.

Polak should also be close this week after his match against Bendigo.

To be honest, I can't remember Richmond having such a problem at the selection table. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Polak will come in for Simmonds.

Foley (if fit) will replace White.

Jackson will probably replace King. Although King has been ok, Jackson is more highly rated. Kings performances have been ahead of Farmer, but King was playing more of a tagging role like Jackson. Still, they might omit Farmer and swap King into Farmers spot. Farmer hasn't been as bad as people say and has more upside than King. If they reward form King will stay ahead of Farmer. If they take the longer term view Farmer will stay ahead of King.

If Moore or Connors are brought back in it is likely to be at the expense of Thursty. McGuane was terrible last week but hasn't been too bad overall and gives more counter-attack than Thursty, and Astbury is looking like a key back prospect. Needs to get some meat on his bones but also good to get some games into him. If they both come in Morton may be back out, particularly if Griff also comes in. I'd like to see JR, Griff and Morton all in the one forward line though.

Griffith could come straight back in if fit because the coach has made noise about more balanced structure up forward and need to help out JR, so may replace a small. Nahas or Nason will make way as both were poor last week. Nason has probably been better over the last few weeks so most likely Nahas. Collins has also struggled but a couple of opportunistic goals made his game look better than it was and could give him some momentum. However they may be concerned about losing too much pace so may leave griff out and use Polak as a tall forward/second ruck.

There are plenty of changes that could be made. Just not sure if they'll want to make 6 changes this week.

Ugh, I hate these rare occassions when we go in as favourites.
Me too... scares the shit out of me!

Selections this week are going to be amongst the most keenly awaited for ages.
So many 'availables' this week (Foley, Jackson, Connors even Moore) all would normally come straight back in but how much will Hardwick stick with the existing group?

5:00pm Thursday may prove to be a pivotal point in our season.

No Scarlett, Ottens, Corey, Ling, Rooke or Hawkins. Podsiadly injured in the warm up, and severely restricted for the match, Mooney & Johnson playing on one leg most of the night.

They got pushed for 3 quarters by the Toast who were playing their absolute hardest, then a couple of blokes (Chapman, Ablett) stepped up a gear in the last and took them to a 4 goal win.

I wouldn’t read too much into the Weagles form based on that result, and they are even more rubbish on the road.

Richmond probably does deserve to start favourites, as silly as that sounds…. If they come out and play with the same intensity they have for the last month, there’s no reason that they can’t win.

Gotta give Morton another run, Dimma has never put a player up for just one match, you can't see all they have to offer in one match, I get the feeling Morton could kick 2-3 if he played.
He was an emergency, and only got a game because of a late withdrawal. I think in that case, if the guy you were replacing is ready to go the next week, you’ll have needed to do something exceptional to retain your spot. He certainly didn’t do that, and all of the other potential ins to go with Griffiths means he’s almost a zero chance of playing this week.
