Sorry if his performance last night has been discussed in some of the other game threads...but i'm on the run and don't have time to read through them....also i was after some specific feedback about Alan's game last night...

I thought he played fantastic, was one that really stood out for me, obviously had a job and followed it to a T. He backed himself, took them on, made the right decisions and disposal was pretty good.

Much maligned on here, and i know its only one game etc, but are the "doubters" starting to see some things they like? I can actually see the faith Mick's put in him, being repaid soon rather than later.

Heres Hoping - Giddy up woodsmen!

Yes, many posters cheerfully doing the volte-face. He's been welcomed into the fold as never before. :)

Clearly he had a face transplant over the summer, because he looked fit, and he even seemed to run somewhat normally, and most importantly he kicked properly.

Wonder whose body they stole?

The real Toovey was stolen by the fairies, and they left us a changeling. He'll be magic.:thumbsu:

It's weird, i've mentioned this before, but it almost looked like his bigger size grounded him somewhat, and made him seem much more balanced. He still look ungainly, but instead of looking like a guy on rollerskates, he seemed heavier on the ground and it helped neaten up his body movement and subsequently improved his skills. It's still only one game, and he has a ways to go, but there's nothing bad about a player who quite frankly made us worse when he played, turning into another guy putting pressure on the 22.

Two more games like that and we'll have o get him a "real" nick name....

The "Tooves Fairy"?????

I just want the crowd to roar TOOVE when he gets the ball and takes a sprint.

That would be awesome lol

After last night he is set to become our next captain and when MM retires will take over the coaching.

He will also displace Eddie as president and become the very first captain/coach and president of an AFL club.

He will also single handedly pilot the plane for all our interstate clashes whilst also providing a lovely little dinner service on the side, specialising in gourmet quality entrees and deserts. During dinner he will provide player entertainment with a stand up comedy routine, a juggling act and will conclude with set of Lennon-McCartney songs whilst accompanying himself on piano.

Then after a few years, Collingwood will file for an AFL name change to Tooveywood.

From those meagre beginnings, he will then go on to find a cure for the flu, solve the greenhouse problem and put an end to world poverty..

Seriously though, he looked a different player last night. He was solid, dependable and his skills seem to have improved out of sight. I only hope it was not a misleading 'one off game' as can often happen in the NAB CUP.

Hopefully it won't be another "Fine Cotton" ring- in affair either, with James Clement exposed as the Toovey impersonator.

LOL!

It's going to happen.

i was VERY impressed with Toovey, i was kind of shocked as well he played with confidence and backed himself at every opportunity! well done TOOVES

BTW i think the TOOVES chant everytime he gets the ball is a MUST!

i'm not his biggest fan but i'm impressed with his performance. maybe he got motivated by the return of ben johnson, or had a similar sit down with mm. anyone else think ben johnson looked a little flat against richmond when you compare him to the performance he gave against west coast? he still managed to contribute and run hard, just didn't have that same level of dominance or feel about him. probably nothing anyway......

Me and my dad have always given a big TOOVE when ever he gets the ball or does anything. The people sitting around us just look at us like 'wtf?'.

As do I also give out PRESTI roar when he does something. Strange looks for me too, not so much with presti everyone loves he cult hero from Research:D

But we must start the TOOOOOOVVVVVVVEEEEEE call every time he gets the ball

A lot of people around us were yelling, "Toooooves" as he ran for that goal, so we joined in. Must have been you Opti. Level 1, Aisle 11, Row J?

Nope aisle 39 and my wording for the event was

toovey marks at CHB "go tooves"
"nice kick, toovester"
when i realised beams knocked it on and toovey kept going
"Run toove, run"
"TOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" as he strides in and drilled the kick.

I have to say it was quite an exciting moment for a pre season comp, second was the Presti contested mark on the wing and beams first goal lol
