Top 10 Clubs of the AFL Era (1990-)

I put WCE over Geelong because they beat them twice in GF's (92, 94)
Being first in the ladder since 2000 is irrelevant then.

As is producing the greatest player of that era, and winning a flag after losing him and our coach.

#3: CARL - Rayner
#4: NTH - Cerra

Yes you would have regular season win percentage over just about anyone since 1990... But Premierships are what count the most.

Geelong might have the Win-loss % over WCE, but we have the H2H edge in Grand Finals. Hawthorn has a similar edge over us, but it doesn't really matter because they have 5 and we have 3.

Is that W/L since 1990?

Don't get upset. Your VFL history still exists.

Just don't try and use it when comparing to non Victorian teams. It's stupid and foolish.
I get the theory, but if you're going to base it off when it began then it should start from when GWS came in. Equal footings for all

Hawks
Sydney
Bulldogs
Richmond

Everyone else is s**t

I called it. Every year a non-Victorian club supporter starts one of these.

So ... how about you explain to a Hawks fan why their 1989 flag is not as good as Collingwood's 1990 flag?

"The league was officially renamed the Australian Football League in 1990 to reflect the new national perspective;[14] the VFA later took over the Victorian Football League name in 1996. Functionally, the AFL gave up control over its Victorian-based minor grades at the end of 1991 – clubs continued to field reserves teams in the independent Victorian State Football League."

EFA.

Yet they always pick 1990 not 1987, so that West Coast looks better.
1990 was the first year of the AFL.

Besides, we had to PAY to join the league in the 80's. It cost us MILLIONS to join.

We had 17 less players than Victorian teams in the 80's.

We had to PAY for Victorian teams to come over and play us in the 80's.
